Why Monster

Why people stick with Monster Cleaning

Everyone wants to walk into a clean home. Almost nobody has the time to keep one. Work runs late, the kids tip a box of something across the floor, the weekend vanishes, and the cleaning slides to the bottom of the list again. The mess does not wait for you to catch up. It builds, slowly, until one Tuesday morning you stand in the kitchen and wonder how it got this far.

It is always the same spots. Dust gathering under the sofa. The red wine stain from Christmas that survived the baking soda, the white vinegar, and the spray the man in B&Q swore would shift it. The oven you have not properly opened since February. Then a friend texts that they are five minutes away and your stomach drops. DIY cleaning falls down here because the stubborn jobs need the right kit and a couple of free hours you do not have, and a hired carpet machine from the supermarket tends to leave things damp rather than clean. Your own home turns into one more thing stressing you out.

That is where we come in. Monster Cleaning has sorted out homes and offices across London, Liverpool and Manchester since 2014. In that time we have cleaned over 40,000 properties and won back 1.2 million pounds in deposits for tenants, and every job is backed by a free re-clean if anything is not right. I started this company when my own flat was a tip, so I learned the tricks that actually work the hard way. Book us once and the change is simple. You walk back through the front door, the place feels right, and your Saturday is your own again.

What we do

Our cleaning services, in plain English

Best known for

End of tenancy cleaning

This is what we are known for. We work with over 300 letting agents, so we know what gets checked at an inspection. Cleaning is the single biggest cause of deposit disputes in the UK, and last year we won back 1.2 million pounds in deposits for tenants. Yours could be next.

From £22/hr

Home cleaning

Regular domestic visits, one-off deep cleans, or a proper top-to-bottom when things have got away from you. We cover London from Battersea to Bethnal Green. We bring our own supplies and leave the place genuinely clean, not tidied on the surface.

Out of hours

Office cleaning

Nobody wants to work in a grubby office and your staff should not have to. We run daily upkeep in the financial-district towers and weekly deep cleans in Croydon tech offices. Early mornings or evenings, so we are never under anyone’s feet.

Hot water extraction

Carpet cleaning

We use hot water extraction, which forces hot water deep into the pile under pressure and pulls it straight back out. It lifts the grit, dust mites and old stains your vacuum has been politely ignoring for years.

Strip-down clean

Oven cleaning

If yours sets off the smoke alarm on preheat, that is carbon build-up, and it is a genuine fire risk as well as a smell. We strip the oven right down and bring it back to a state you would happily show someone.

Why people pick us over the other lot

We know London properties. Hard-water scale in the NW postcodes, heavy pollen near Hyde Park, the dust traps in a Hackney Victorian conversion. Thousands of London homes in, we know what each area throws at us.

We adapt on the spot. Last February a client in Chelsea had a flooded basement that came up nowhere on the phone. We dealt with it and still finished on time. You cannot teach that from a manual.

Products that work, not a green label. Our cleaning agents are EU Ecolabel certified and they genuinely shift dirt, which is more than I can say for most eco sprays I have tried over the years.

A 57-point checklist. I wrote it after watching cleaners miss the same spots in high-rise flats. Every job gets checked against it. No exceptions.

Prices on the website. All of them, before you call. We set our rates from real time studies across thousands of London jobs, so the quote is the price you pay.

We are a cleaning company too that strive on standard and quality services to our clients. We’ve reached out to Monster Cleaning for help with an oven clean. Our expectation was nothing less than satisfactory and high standard. They delivered. Great professional service from customer service to field job. Before and after pictures provided and updates during the cleaning process. Definitely use again and highly recommend.

★★★★★

I was very happy with the service (oven cleaning) provided by Monster Cleaning Services. The young man who cleaned my oven was very conscientious and methodical in stripping it down and cleaning it, and was most helpful in explaining various points to me. In addition, Stan (in the office) gave me useful links for replacement parts and advised me on pricing. All in all, I would be happy to use Monster again.

The service was phenomenal. Couldn’t be more impressed by the quality of the cleaning. Paid for an ‘end of tenancy’ service and carpet clean. Everything was spotless and the showers, fridge, freezer and oven (which was wrecked) looked brand new. Customer service were helpful and efficient – all round brilliant service i couldn’t recommend more highly.

Since 2014

Monster Cleaning London: deep-clean specialists you can actually trust

I fell into the cleaning trade by accident in 2014 and now I cannot picture doing anything else. We built our name on the hard jobs: baked-on oven grease in Oxford Street restaurants, tired carpets in period Notting Hill townhouses, Canary Wharf offices kept sharp for people who notice. There is a real satisfaction in turning a neglected place around. Some days I barely recognise a room once we have finished.

What happens when we clean your place

I still remember a property manager in Piccadilly watching us pull visible grime out of a carpet he swore was clean. That is the job in one moment. We get to what regular cleaning leaves behind. It might be a Victorian conversion in Belgravia with twenty years of dust trapped behind the bathroom panels, or black mould in a Brixton flat that three other products would not touch, and we work it out either way. A decade in, I am still meeting new ones. Last week we had to mix a hydrogen peroxide solution we normally keep for commercial kitchens. It worked. This job never gets dull.

What our customers say

“Three cleaning companies could not shift the cooking smell in our Shoreditch kitchen. Monster worked out that the extraction system itself needed cleaning, which nobody else had even checked. My partner’s asthma eased within days.”

Sarah T., Hackney

“They deep-cleaned our trading floor and two of the team said their hay fever had not flared for the first time since they joined us. We expected clean. We did not expect healthier.”

James P., Tower Hamlets

We’ll treat your space like it’s our own.

Every clean. Every time.

Questions

Common questions

  • How much does a cleaner cost per hour?

Regular cleaning starts at £22/hr, and the more hours you book each week the less you pay. One-off and deep cleans are from £26/hr, and if you have just had builders in, the after-builders clean is from £30/hr. Yes, the plaster dust gets everywhere. We do not do hidden fees or a “starting from” price that quietly doubles once we turn up. Every rate is on our prices page, down to the penny. Have a look. You will see there is nothing buried in the small print.

  • What does an end of tenancy clean include?

Everything the letting agent is going to check. We know what they check because we work with over 300 of them. Skirting boards, oven racks, the limescale that has all but fossilised in the shower, the sticky patches in the kitchen cupboards. Last year we won back £1.2 million in deposits for tenants. One customer got her full deposit back after melting something onto the hob (we did not ask). The aim is simple: leave the place looking like nobody ever lived there, which is somehow the standard letting agents expect. Odd benchmark, but we have it down. Full details and pricing here.

  • Do carpets have to be professionally cleaned at the end of a tenancy?

Often yes. Under the Tenant Fees Act a landlord cannot force you to pay for professional cleaning, but they can deduct from your deposit if the place is not returned as clean as it was at check-in, so read your agreement. A supermarket hire machine rarely gets there. We helped a student last month who had tried the DIY route. His landlord took one look and shook his head. We pulled what looked like three years of university out of those fibres and he got the lot back. Book us 7 to 10 days before the inspection, because month-end fills up fast. We give a dated receipt too, which some landlords will ring to verify. See our carpet cleaning prices.

  • What is the best way to clean carpets?

Hot water extraction, which most people call steam cleaning. It drives hot water deep into the pile under pressure, lifts the grime that has been sitting there for years, then pulls it all back out: dirt, bacteria, cleaning solution and the water with it. That last part is the point. Supermarket hire machines leave carpets damp, and damp leads to mildew. Ours do not. We also set temperature and pressure to suit the carpet type, since wool needs a gentler touch than synthetic and plenty of firms never bother to check. A customer in Hampstead had tried everything on her pet odours before she called us. Three days after we finished she rang to say her mother-in-law had complimented the house for the first time ever. That is what proper kit does. More about our carpet cleaning.

  • Is professional oven cleaning worth it?

Genuinely, yes. An oven is built to burn things, day after day, year after year. That smoke on preheat is carbon build-up, and it does not just smell. It is what kills the heating elements and fans. Most of the oven breakdowns we see start with grease that has been baking onto the parts for years. Weigh our fee against a new element, or a whole new oven. We strip the oven down, clean it with professional products rather than the caustic supermarket stuff that stings your eyes, and put it back together. Twice a year is ideal. Even once will leave you wondering how you ever cooked with that smoke-belching thing. Oven cleaning prices here.

  • What does domestic cleaning involve?

Everything you would do yourself with the time, done properly. Dusting, vacuuming (including the corners behind the furniture everyone pretends are not there), kitchen and bathroom surfaces, sinks scrubbed until they actually shine, the inside of the microwave where soup somehow always explodes. We use disinfectant where it matters, in the bathroom and kitchen, but we will not drown your home in chemicals. Depending on the package we will also change bed linen, do the ironing, or clean the inside of the windows. It is not complicated. We just do it thoroughly so you do not have to. See domestic cleaning options.

  • What is included in office cleaning?

We work early mornings or evenings so we are never in your staff’s way. The basics: vacuuming and mopping the entrances and floors, emptying bins, wiping every surface, and properly sanitising the toilets with fresh supplies. You can tell a lot about a business from its loos, and no client wants to use a grim one. Kitchens and break areas get a full going-over too, microwaves, sinks, coffee stations and tables. We also hit the germ hotspots people forget: light switches, door handles, shared kit. Depending on the package we can add inside windows, deeper carpet cleaning, or even the plants. Office cleaning details and pricing.

  • What do you mean by commercial cleaning?

It is cleaning for businesses rather than homes: offices, shops, hotels, gyms and corporate HQs. The main differences are bigger spaces, specialist kit (industrial floor scrubbers, not a Henry hoover), and work scheduled outside business hours so nobody is vacuuming around your staff. We handle security protocols, health and safety rules, and the different building materials that each need their own approach. A mysterious stain on a reception carpet tells a visitor not to trust you with their money, louder than anything in a brochure. See commercial cleaning options.

  • Does London pollution make indoor cleaning more important?

Honestly, yes. London air is not great, and the particulates settle on surfaces, carpets and soft furnishings. A proper deep clean makes a clear difference, especially near a main road or if anyone at home has allergies or asthma.

  • Can you clean older London properties without harming period features?

It is one of our specialities. Victorian tiles, original cornicing and Edwardian woodwork all need a gentler hand than modern surfaces. We use pH-balanced solutions and non-abrasive methods, and if we are unsure about a surface we test a small patch first.

  • Does professional cleaning help with property valuations?

Estate agents tell us it shows at viewings. Buyers notice clean carpets and a fresh-smelling kitchen even when they cannot say why a place feels right. We cannot promise a figure, but agents have booked us in specifically before an open-house day.
