4 Of The Best Burger Places In Twickenham According To Our Team
The Shack 68
First on our list is The Shack 68 – a cosy family-run pub with a beautiful interior. They have wooden floors, a wooden bar, stunning red upholstered chairs and sofas, and a red ceiling covered with leaves! The venue is really gorgeous, however, the star of the show is the food! Their menu consists of a number of comfort foods including burgers, mac and cheese, wings, burritos, and more!
They also have an impressive menu with drinks – from cocktails to spirits and even shots.
When it comes to their burgers, we highly recommend their Baconnaise (beef patty, cheddar cheese, American cheese, bacon, mayo, lettuce, relish, American mustard, pickles), the Mexicana (beef patty, hot Mexican cheese, jalepeños, peppers, chipotle mayo, lettuce, relish, pickles), the Pulled Pork (pulled pork, lettuce, coleslaw, pickles), and the Katsu Curry (chicken, katsu curry sauce, mayo, lettuce, pickles)!
You can also never go wrong with their Shack Burrito (chipotle pulled chicken, brown rice, black beans, guacamole, pico de gallo) and the Mac & Cheese served with chips!

The Sussex Arms
Next on our list, we have The Sussex Arms, a traditionally-styled pub that also has a large garden. They offer drinks and home-cooked food that is delicious – from burgers and pies to pizza! The staff is friendly, the service is excellent, the venue is beautiful, and the food is mouthwatering – what more do we need?
Our favourite burgers off of their menu are The Green Chilli (beef patty, jalapenos, American cheese, shallots, and homemade burger sauce), The Mac & Beef (beef patty, mac ‘n’ cheese croquette, American cheese, bacon, red onion jam, homemade burger sauce), the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Burger (with cheddar, jalapeños, tomato, pickles, lettuce, sweet chilli sauce), and The Classic (beef patty, bacon, onions, American cheese, pickles, tomato, lettuce).
If you are vegetarian then you will be pleasantly surprised because they have delicious options for you as well – from a burger with a jackfruit patty, coleslaw, BBQ chipotle sauce, and smoked cheese to The Halloumi Burger (with grilled halloumi, aubergine, courgette, pepper, pesto)!

The Crane Tap
The next place on our list is contemporary and sophisticated. It’s an “elevated bistro fare” as they have stated on their website and we agree. It really is such a gorgeous venue that you are going to fall in love with! But enough talk about the interior – the most important thing is their menu!
They are definitely focused on quality over quantity – they have four burgers on their menu all of which are mouthwatering and super tasty. The first burger consists of chicken, maple bacon, avocado, tomato, fried egg. The second burger is called Tap and has a beef patty, fried onions, tomato jam, and cheese. The third option is Karaage Chicken Burger (with chicken, tomato, chilli mayo, pickles), and the last option is a Veggie Burger with plant-bases patty, patty, beetroot ketchup, and avocado!

The Eel Pie
And finally, the fourth burger place that we highly recommend you visit located in Twickenham is yet another incredibly stylish pub with a stunning venue and delicious food on their menu called The Eel Pie. It’s a pretty popular place so some of you might already have been there.
But before we get to discussing their burgers, we want to recommend you some of their starters – the Korean Style Chicken Wings (with cashew nuts, sesame, coriander) and the Chipotle Mushroom BBQ Tacos (with pickled chilli, salsa, coriander, avocado, yoghurt, lime)!
When it comes to their burgers, they offer four different delicious options – one with beef, one with chicken, one with fish, and even one without meat or any dairy products!
They have a Chargrilled Double Cheeseburger (beef patty, Monterey Jack, smoked bacon, burger sauce, pickles, fries), a Southern Fried Chicken Burger (with sriracha mayo, lettuce, Monterey Jack, pickles, fries), a Forum Battered Fish Burger (with tartare sauce, lettuce, peas, mint, chips), and a Plant Burger (with a burger sauce, lettuce, vegan smoked applewood cheese, pickles, fries)!
For dessert, we highly recommend their Sticky Toffee Pudding with vanilla ice cream and the Warm Deep Filled Apple Tart!
