4 Of The Best Italian Restaurants In Clapham Junction You Should Visit

Taverna Trastevere

First on our list is Taverna Trastevere which is a casual and rustic restaurant offering excellent Italian food. We truly love the interior because it reminds us of a restaurant in Italy located in a small village. We also love their menu, the staff, and the excellent service.

Starters include Bruschettina al pomodoro (with garlic and tomato), Pizzotto con mortadella pistachio (small pizza), Calamari e Gamberi fritti (squid and prawns), Burrata con crema di pomodorino datterino (with pesto, tomatoes), Caprese Salad, Octupus carpaccio, etc.

When it comes to their main dishes, they offer delicious pizzas as well as pasta and a few other Italian main dishes such as Veal escalope (with parma ham, sage, and white wine sauce) and Grilled lamb cutlets.

We love their starters – all of which are traditional. We also love their main dishes – our favourites are the Homemade pumpkin and ricotta ravioli, the Linguine with crab, sweet chilli, and white wine sauce, the Risotto with Italian sausage and wine, the Fritto Misto Di Mare (deep-fried calamari, prawns, whitebaits, courgettes, panelle), the Grilled beef steak with a rocket and parmesan salad as well as the Panfried cod fillet (with spinach, chickpeas, and salsa verde).

Buonasera is the next Italian restaurant in the area that we recommend you visit. It is casual, it has an outdoor sitting area, the menu is impressive, the food is divine, and they have a great selection of drinks.

Our favourite starters are the Calamari e zucchine and the Deep-fried aubergines (stuffed with mozzarella cheese + tomato sauce).

When it comes to their pasta dishes, we highly recommend the Linguine allo scoglio (with prawns, baby squids, mussels, clams, cherry tomatoes, chilli), the Orecchiette salsiccie e broccoli (with Italian sausages, broccoli, sun-dried tomato, Pecorino cheese), the Gnocchi Corsara (with a basil and pine kernel pesto, cream and tomato sauce), and the Spaghetti con polpettine (with meatballs).

Of course, they also serve great pizzas as well as other traditional main dishes such as Milanese di Pollo.

We do recommend you try to leave room for dessert because they have homemade Tiramisu.
