4 Of The Best Turkish Restaurants In Tooting Bec According To Our Team

Istanbul Kebab & Mangal

Istanbul Kebab & Mangal is a very casual kebab shop – and it is actually one of our favourites in Tooting Bec because they really know how to make great kebabs and traditional Turkish food.

We highly recommend their starters – especially the Turkish Sausage, the Soslu Patilican (fried aubergine, red and green peppers, tomato sauce), the Hummus, and the Ezme (chopped onion, mixed peppers, tomato, parsley, pomegranate sauce).

When it comes to their main dishes, you can never go wrong with their kebabs with yoghurt – the Lamb Shish (with bread, tomato sauce, yoghurt, butter), the Adana Kofte (with bread, tomato sauce, yoghurt, butter), and the Iskender Kebab (lamb doner meat, bread, tomato sauce, yoghurt, butter).

Address: 19 Upper Tooting Rd, Tooting Bec, London SW17 7TS

Doner Cave

Next on our list is Doner Cave – a casual kebab shop where you will find the most delicious doner kebab wraps in Tooting Bec.

Definitely try out their Berlin Doner Kebab (handmade toasted bread, doner meat, signature spicy sauce and garlic sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion, red cabbage), the Naga fusion doner kebab (special naga hot sauce, handmade toasted bread, doner meat, fresh lettuce, tomato, onion, red cabbage), and the Falafel Box (falafel, lettuce, tomato, onion, red cabbage, sauces of your choice).

The Kebab Company

Next on our list is a lovely Turkish restaurant with a casual venue, excellent traditional food, and great service – The Kebab Company. It is a very popular spot so if you love Turkish food you have probably heard of it already.

When it comes to their starters, we recommend their Hummus, Halloumi Cheese, Falafel as well as the Greek Salad.

When it comes to their main dishes, as you can imagine, they have plenty of options. We do recommend their Grilled Sea Bass if you like fish. Also, get their Grilled Mix Shish (skewers of shish – lamb, chicken, or Adana kofte, served with bread, salad, rice), the Chicken Shish Wrap, the Grilled Lamb Chops (served with bread, salad, and rice), and the Chicken Wings Meal (Grilled chicken wings served with a salad and a choice of chips or rice).

For dessert, you have to try their Baklava!

Nar Pide

And we did save the best for last. Nar Pide is an excellent Turkish restaurant where you will find not only delicious kebabs but plenty of other traditional dishes that you already love and are craving.

They have a great selection of starters – from Lahmacun, Içli Köfte (Homemade Turkish stuffed meatballs with cracked bulgur, ground beef, lamb, onions, parsley, and walnuts), and Filo Pastry with Feta to Cacik and Red Lentil Patties.

When it comes to their kebabs, we recommend their Posh Chicken Beyti (sourdough wrapped over chicken kofte with yoghurt, vermicelli pilaf, grilled green pepper, tomato, homemade tomato sauce, butter, pistachio), the Posh Lamb Chops (marinated lamb chops plus vermicelli pilaf, grilled pepper, tomato, hummus, sourdough wrap, butter, pistachio), and the Posh Lamb Beyti (sourdough wrapped lamb kofte with yoghurt, bulgur, grilled tomato and pepper, tomato sauce, butter, pistachio).

We also highly recommend their Pide – our favourites are the Diced Lamb Pide, the Three Cheese Pide, and the Spinach and Feta Pide!
