There are plenty of good restaurants in Barnes that offer burgers but which ones are really worth visiting? Our team will share their favourite places in the area that don’t only offer good burgers – they offer excellent ones.
5 Of The Best Burger Places In Barnes You Should Visit
The Coach and Horses
We want to start off today’s list with one of the most beautiful pubs in Barnes – The Coach and Horses. It has a stunning interior and a lovely expansive outdoor courtyard where we love to sit in the spring and summer. It really is a lovely place to go to plus their menu is impressive and the food they offer is delicious.
Their menu does consist of different burgers so picking what to order might be difficult. We highly recommend their Loaded Burger (double beef patty, slow-cooked ox cheek, cheese, onions, iceberg, burger sauce) and the Chicken Katsu (chicken fillets, carrot apple & coriander slaw, sour cream, katsu curry sauce).
We really like that they have a vegan option for each burger they offer. For example, their Loaded Burger and their Chicken Katsu Burger have a vegan alternative where the beef patty is swapped for a vegan one plus a BBQ jackfruit and the chicken is swapped for vegan “chicken”.

True Grill House
Their Hen House Burger (marinated chicken breast, bacon, tomato, lettuce, thyme mayo), True Burger (beef patty, bacon, cheddar cheese, red onion relish, gherkin, lettuce, thyme mayo), Mexican Burger (beef patty, American cheese, jalapenos, smoked bacon, onion relish), and Cajun Chicken Burger (spicy chicken breast, tomato, lettuce, curry mayo) are our favourites and we highly recommend you give them a try. The meat is juicy, the toppings are perfect, and the taste is unique yet incredible.

The Red Lion
Another stunning pub that is worth visiting is The Red Lion. It’s Victorian-styled, it’s very big, has a log fire, high ceilings, a car part, and even a beautiful heated garden. It’s one of our favourite pubs in London – not just in Barnes.
We highly recommend ordering their Chalcroft Farm Beef Burger which has a juicy beef patty, Monterey Jack, and burger sauce and is served with triple-cooked chips.
We also want to talk a bit more about their starters – their White Onion Soup with Cheddar cheese and truffle oil as well as their Devonshire Crab Thermidor Tart are something out of this world – and must be tried!
Address: 2 Castelnau, London SW13 9RU
The Brown Dog
Their Brown Dog Burger has a beef patty, pickles, tomato relish, Wookey Hole cheddar, and hand-cut chips. This is a perfect burger – not too many ingredients yet enough to create a balanced, juicy, and delicious meal.
We also recommend you leave room for dessert – they have a tasty Sticky Toffee Pudding, Chocolate Pudding with fruits, and Praline Parfait with Blackberry Sauce and an Almond Crumb.
Address: 28 Cross St, London SW13 0AP
The Sun Inn
They do offer two burgers at the moment – one beef burger and one for vegetarians and vegans: Smoked Bacon Cheeseburger (with Devonshire Cheddar, fries, house sauce) and Plant-Based (with Scotch Bonnet sauce, pink pickled onions, salad).
Their menu also includes starters such as Pan-Seared Scallops, Goats Cheese, and Duck Parfait, and main dishes such as Chicken, Smoked Ham Hock & Leek Pie, Octopus & Calabrian Nduja, and Ribeye Steak.
For dessert, you should try their Belgian Chocolate Brownie, Chocolate Caramel Ganache, or the Apple & Damson Crumble with ginger ice cream.
