A new swimming spot is about to open on the 20th this month. Well, it will be more of an experience than a swimming spot.
The largest green space in the Borough of Lewisham will be turned into the newest swimming spot for everyone from London to enjoy.
The Georgian lake, which was previously filled in the twentieth century, is now finally being re-filled. This was a huge project and over £4.9 million were spent on it – but we must say, it’s worth it.
This lake is 285m by 48m and is 3.5m at the deepest area.
Everyone that wants to take a swim there will firstly need to book and pay in advance. There is a beach area that is free.
There will be a new café open there for everyone that wants snacks or wants to grab a kayak or try other water sports.
The lake will be open all year and there will be lifeguards and a place for everyone to change in the summer.
The lake is being slowly filled and will be officially open this week, on the 20th of July.
There will be a free launch party with a bar, live music, water activities for everyone, and much more.
