A one-off deep clean starts at £186 (two cleaners for three hours) and is priced by the hour after that: £26 per cleaner-hour, plus a £30 charge for equipment and detergents that we can drop if you supply your own. A studio or one-bed flat is usually the £186 minimum, a three-bed around £238, and a large house more, depending on the state of it. It covers what a regular clean leaves out: behind and under the appliances, inside the kitchen cupboards, descaling, grout, skirting boards and the tops of doors and frames. A deep clean is the one-off, top-to-bottom reset that gets a property back to zero. Not the weekly whizz-round. The proper pull-the-appliances-out, inside-the-cupboards, behind-the-toilet-pedestal, scrub-the-grout-until-it-is-white kind of clean that makes a home feel genuinely new again. When you need a deep clean, and when you do not

A deep clean is the right answer when things have genuinely got away from you, or when something specific is coming up that needs the house at its best. Putting the place on the market. In-laws arriving for a fortnight. A new baby coming home and the thought of the kitchen-as-it-currently-is making you slightly frantic. You have just moved in and the previous people’s idea of clean is plainly not yours. Or you have come out the far side of a brutal six months, looked around, and thought: right, I need someone to press reset on this place, because I cannot face it myself.

A deep clean is the wrong answer if what you actually need is ongoing help. If the place looks tired again in three months, another deep clean is not the fix; regular domestic cleaning is. The pattern that works for most of our customers is a deep clean to start, then a weekly or fortnightly domestic slot that keeps the house there, with a deep clean every couple of years as a top-up. You should not need one twice in a year. If you do, something else is going on, and we would rather talk to you about that honestly than sell you the same service twice.

The other clear case for a deep clean is after a big one-off event. A party that got out of hand. Christmas with fifteen relatives. A student house at the end of term before the parents arrive. A kitchen refit that technically finished a week ago and left dust on everything. Events have aftermath, and aftermath takes specialist time.

What a deep clean actually covers

The list below is a deep clean for a standard three-bedroom property. Bigger or smaller properties adjust accordingly, but the principle holds: every surface gets touched, and the things a regular clean skips because there is no time are exactly what a deep clean is for.

Kitchen, where most of the work lives

• Inside every cupboard and drawer. Everything comes out, shelves wiped down, contents put back tidily. Yes, we find the out-of-date jar of tahini behind the pasta. No, we will not judge you for it.
• Inside the fridge. Shelves out, washed, dried, replaced. Seals checked and cleaned, since they collect mould faster than anyone realises.
• Inside the freezer, if it is defrosted. We do not defrost as part of the clean, but if it is already done we handle the inside properly.
• Inside the microwave, until the carousel spins freely and the roof has lost that yellow film. Behind and underneath too.
• The hob pulled apart properly: rings off, burners lifted, grates scrubbed. Extractor hood degreased, filter dropped out and soaked.
• The oven gets its own category, see below.
• Appliances pulled out where possible: fridge, dishwasher, washing machine. The floor behind them is where the real horror lives, and a regular clean never touches it.
• Tiles, splashback, grout. We bring an actual grout brush, not a toothbrush. It makes a dramatic difference.
• Sink, taps, drainer, plughole. Descaled, polished, back to looking new.
• Bins out, washed, replaced, including the recycling caddy nobody ever washes.

Bathrooms

• Limescale, everywhere. Taps, shower heads, glass, tiles. London water is properly hard and limescale builds up invisibly until your chrome suddenly looks matte. Proper descaler, proper dwell time, proper result.
• Grout scrubbed white, or as white as it is going to get. If the grout is past saving we tell you honestly, because no amount of scrubbing fixes grout that has been painted over or gone black through the body.
• Behind and under the toilet pedestal. The single biggest source of bathroom smells, and the one spot no quick clean ever deals with.
• Inside the toilet properly: under the rim, in the S-bend, the flush button and lid hinges.
• Shower screen descaled until it is actually transparent again, tracks and sealant bead included.
• Extractor fan vent wiped (not taken apart, that is electrical, but the visible parts).
• Mirror, and the bit of wall behind the mirror you forget exists until you move it.
• Skirting boards, floor corners, the gap between the bath and the wall.

Bedrooms and living areas

• Dust from the top down: light fittings, picture rails, cornicing, top of wardrobes, top of doors, skirting. The dust on horizontal surfaces you would need a ladder to see.
• Hoover, including under the furniture we can move. Sofas pulled out, rugs lifted, bed bases done underneath.
• Upholstered furniture vacuumed thoroughly. Specialist upholstery cleaning is a separate service, but the vacuum pass is standard on a deep clean.
• Inside wardrobes and drawers where they are accessible. The top shelf of a wardrobe is a properly common dust trap.
• Skirting boards, door frames and the doors themselves wiped.
• Internal glass: doors, windows (inside only), mirrors.
• Radiators wiped behind and underneath, vented if we can access the top.

Throughout

• Switches, sockets, handles, bannisters and railings all wiped and disinfected.
• Floors hoovered then mopped with a product matched to the material. Wood floors especially benefit, because most domestic cleaning uses the wrong solution for years and dulls the finish.
• Wall scuffs removed where possible. We are realistic about this: not every scuff comes off without repainting, and we will not pretend otherwise.
• Cobwebs in every corner, including the ceiling corners nobody looks at until a guest does.

Add-ons most people ask for

These are not in the deep-clean base price because not everyone wants them, but most of our deep-clean customers tack on at least one:

• Oven cleaning. Properly stripped, racks soaked in a dip tank, glass separated and cleaned both sides. A specialist separate service, because it needs specialist kit. If your oven has been suffering, book it as an add-on and we time the two to finish together.
• Carpet cleaning. Hot-water extraction with the proper machine, not the hire unit from the supermarket. It changes how a room smells and feels. Worth doing on the same day, since the carpets need to dry before furniture goes back.
• Upholstery cleaning. Sofas, armchairs, dining chairs. If you have pets or pale fabric, or guests are coming and the sofa has seen things, add this on.
• Window cleaning. External windows are a separate service. If you want the place sparkling inside and out, roll them in together.
• Wardrobe turn-out. Clothes out, shelves and rails wiped, clothes back in. Good for a seasonal changeover.

What it costs

The rate is £26 per cleaner-hour, plus a £30 charge for equipment and detergents, with a minimum of two cleaners for three hours (so £186). The figures above are the typical range; the actual quote depends on the state of the property and how much has accumulated. A reasonably well-maintained three-bed that just has not had a proper going-over in eighteen months is an easier job than a three-bed where nothing has been cleaned seriously in five years. We are honest on the phone about where you are likely to fall, and if we arrive and it is considerably worse than described, we pause and talk to you about it before pressing on. Deep clean, end of tenancy or after builders

People sometimes mix these up, so here it is plainly:

If you are renting and moving out, you want the end-of-tenancy page, not this one; the specific checklist matters and letting agents are unforgiving. If you have just had builders in, go to after-builders, because the products and technique are different. Everything else is a deep clean.

Why pay someone else to do this

Plenty of people think they will tackle a deep clean themselves one weekend. Plenty of people have started that deep clean at 9am on a Saturday, full of resolve, and given up by 2pm having only properly done the kitchen. Deep cleaning a whole property is a six-to-ten hour job, it is physical, and by hour four you stop caring and start cutting corners, which is exactly when you start missing the things that matter.

The other piece is kit. A proper deep clean uses professional-grade products for specific problems: descaler that actually shifts cemented limescale rather than a polite spray, oven cleaner that will not give you a headache, grout paste, enzyme cleaners for organic stains. Buying all of that for one weekend costs more than hiring us, and leaves you with a cupboard of chemicals you will never use again and do not know how to dispose of properly.

The last thing, and this is the most common feedback we get, is that it is simply different when someone else does it. You are not emotionally invested in that one weird stain in the corner that has been taunting you for years. A cleaner arrives, sees it as a technical problem, solves it, moves on. No baggage. You walk back into your home that evening and it is not the home you left in the morning. People cry sometimes. Not often, but sometimes.

2. Book the slot. Most deep cleans go in 5 to 10 days out. End of month and the first weekend after Christmas are the two busiest windows of the year, so if that is when you need us, ring earlier rather than later. We work seven days a week.
3. The van arrives with everything. Professional HEPA vacuums, the full kit of pH-matched products, descaler, grout tools, microfibres, mop system, step ladders. You provide nothing, not even bin bags.
4. Two cleaners for most homes above a one-bed. Faster, more thorough (a second pair of eyes catches what the first missed), and the job finishes the same day rather than dragging across two.
5. Walk-through at the end. You, or we over WhatsApp photos, do a final walk-through before we leave. Anything not right, we sort it before we go.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a deep clean actually take?
Most properties are done in a single day. A one-bed flat is usually 4 to 5 hours with one cleaner. A three-bed house is typically 6 to 8 hours with two cleaners. A five-bed is a full day with two or three cleaners. We give a time estimate on the phone based on what you tell us, and the quote is based on that estimate. If it runs over, we pause and talk to you before carrying on.

How often should I book a deep clean?
Annually is plenty for most households that have regular weekly or fortnightly domestic cleaning in between. Every two years is fine for smaller, tidier households. If you have no regular cleaning and are relying on deep cleans to stay afloat, you are usually better off switching to regular cleaning plus a deep clean every couple of years. It works out cheaper and the place stays in better shape.

Is a deep clean the same as a spring clean?
Effectively, yes. A spring clean is the same job done at a particular time of year, typically March to May, when the dust from winter heating has settled on everything and the house needs an open-windows reset. The pricing and scope are identical.

Can you do a deep clean with kids and pets in the house?
Yes. Our products are low-VOC and pet-safe, and we work around whoever is home. For the disruption-sensitive, very young children, elderly relatives, anxious dogs, we can work one room at a time in sequence so there is always somewhere quiet to be. Tell us at booking and we plan accordingly.

What about inside the oven?
It is an add-on, not included as standard. A proper oven clean needs a dip tank for the racks and specific products that should not be part of a domestic deep-clean routine. Book oven cleaning as an add-on and we time it to finish alongside the deep clean.

Will you move my furniture?
Yes, within reason. Sofas pulled out, beds shifted for hoovering underneath, dining tables moved so we can get to the corners. We will not move anything that needs two people and specialist equipment to shift (wardrobes full of clothes, upright pianos, heavy antique furniture). For anything you specifically want moved or specifically do not, tell us at the start of the visit.

Do you clean inside wardrobes and drawers?
Inside cupboards and drawers where they are empty or close to empty, yes. Fully packed wardrobes, we tidy the top shelf (where the dust actually is) and leave the rest. Nobody wants a cleaner unpacking their sock drawer, and we have learned not to offer.

What if the job is bigger than we described on the phone?
We flag it within the first 30 minutes of arrival. If it is significantly more work than quoted, we pause, have the conversation with you, and agree either a revised estimate or a reduced scope. We do not keep silently working past the quote and spring a bill on you at the end.

Is everything insured?
Yes. £5 million public liability, £10 million employer’s liability. Accidental damage covered up to the policy limit, paperwork on request. In twelve years of deep cleans we have had a handful of breakages and resolved every one without drama.

Are your cleaners trained for deep work specifically?
Yes. Deep cleans are not a job we give to anyone new. Every cleaner on a deep clean has at least 12 months with us on regular domestic work first, plus specific training on the products and techniques deep cleans need: descaling chemistry, grout work, appliance pull-out, product-to-surface matching.
