Regular home cleaning from £22 an hour weekly, £24 fortnightly, with one-off cleans from £26 and the same cleaner each visit where possible. Minimum three hours, we bring everything, fully insured, no hidden fees. We cover London, Liverpool and Manchester. That is the short answer; the detail is below.
Domestic cleaning is what we do on a regular basis for people who would rather spend their Saturdays on anything other than scrubbing a bathroom. Weekly, fortnightly or monthly visits, the same cleaner each time where possible, keys kept somewhere safe, and a home that is genuinely liveable when you walk back in. Monster Cleaning has kept London, Liverpool and Manchester homes on top of themselves since 2014. Rates start at £22 an hour per cleaner for weekly bookings, everything included. Ring 0333 555 2076 and we will quote on the phone in about two minutes. The rest of this page is the detail.
Last updated April 2026. Covering Greater London (all boroughs, Zones 1 to 6 and most of the M25 catchment), Greater Liverpool and Greater Manchester.
Who this page is for
If your home is broadly functional and you just want to keep it that way without losing every weekend to it, you are on the right page. If the place has got badly away from you and you dread the thought of anyone seeing it, you probably want our deep clean service instead, which is the one-off, sleeves-up job that resets a property to zero. Domestic cleaning, the subject of this page, is the ongoing upkeep that stops you ever needing a deep clean again.
Most of our domestic customers are working households. Two professionals with a dog and no time. Families where both parents work and nobody has been near the inside of the oven since last Christmas. Older couples whose children have left home and who have decided, quite reasonably, that hoovering is no longer something they are prepared to do. We also do a fair amount for freelancers and people who work from home and realised that living in the office they are trying to work in was making them miserable. Whatever the situation, the service is the same, just calibrated to what the home actually needs.
What gets done on a regular visit
Every visit follows the same core routine, adjusted for the size of your home and the time booked. Below is what a standard three-hour weekly clean covers in a two-bed flat. Bigger properties need more time. Smaller ones occasionally finish early, and we do the extras (inside the fridge, inside the microwave, the sills) rather than clock off.
Kitchen
- Worktops, splashback, sink and taps wiped, disinfected and descaled. London water is hard enough to need this weekly, which most people underestimate.
- Hob cleaned properly, grates lifted, burners checked.
- Appliance fronts wiped down: hob, extractor, fridge, dishwasher, the outside of the microwave.
- Floor mopped with the right product for what you have. Laminate and real wood do not like the same solution, and using the wrong one for years is why floors look tired.
- Bins emptied, liners replaced if you leave them out.
Bathrooms
- Bath, shower, screen and tiles scrubbed and descaled.
- Toilet cleaned and disinfected properly: under the rim, the base, the cistern, the flush handle.
- Basin, taps, mirror and glass.
- Floor washed, corners and behind the pedestal done. That is the bit most cleaners miss, and it is where the smell comes from in any bathroom starting to go off.
- Towels refolded, or replaced if you leave fresh ones out.
Bedrooms and living areas
- Dusting of every horizontal surface, including the tops of picture frames and door frames that nobody thinks about until they finally notice them.
- Hoovering of carpets, rugs, hard floors, and upholstery if time allows.
- Mopping of hard floors.
- Beds made if unmade, linen changed if clean sheets are left out.
- Skirting boards wiped on rotation, not every visit. Weekly is overkill, and the time is better spent on something that needs doing.
Throughout
- Light switches, door handles and bannisters, the germy bits everyone touches and nobody cleans.
- Internal glass: front door glass, glass doors between rooms, large mirrors.
- Tidying surfaces where things have drifted from their usual homes. We will not move personal things around if you would rather we did not, just say so.
- A final walk-through before we leave.
Add-ons you can tack onto any regular clean
These are the things we do if you want them, for a bit of extra time on the visit. Say so when you book and we roll them into the same slot:
- Ironing. Shirts, trousers, bedding, the lot. £12 an hour on top of the cleaning time, usually about 45 minutes for a couple’s weekly pile. Easily the most requested add-on.
- Inside the oven. A proper oven strip-down is a separate service (see oven cleaning), but a light interior wipe to keep the build-up down is fine as part of a regular clean.
- Inside the fridge. Monthly ideally, more often if you cook properly. Emptied shelf by shelf, wiped, dried, put back.
- Inside windows. Internal glass is standard. If you want the insides of the windows properly done rather than a quick polish, that is an add-on. External windows are separate, see our window cleaning page.
- Laundry load. We put a wash on and hang it out or tumble it, whichever you prefer. Useful for people who travel for work.
- Changing bedding across several beds (children’s rooms, spare rooms).
- Light disinfection. Handles, switches, bannisters, remote controls. Useful after illness, after guests, or if anyone in the house is immunocompromised.
What it costs
| Booking type | Rate | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Weekly clean | From £22/hour per cleaner | Families, busy households, anyone who wants a properly maintained home |
| Fortnightly clean | From £24/hour per cleaner | Couples, smaller households, lower-traffic homes |
| Monthly clean | From £25/hour per cleaner | Tidy households who just want a monthly reset |
| Ad hoc or one-off light clean | From £26/hour per cleaner | Pre-guest tidy, post-party sort-out, occasional help |
| Ironing add-on | £12/hour | On top of any cleaning booking |
Minimum visit is three hours, which is about what a properly done two-bed flat actually needs. Below three hours you are getting a surface-level whizz-round that does not really count as cleaning, and we would rather not do that. Prices are fully inclusive: all products, all equipment, no travel charge within our standard area. We bring everything, including the hoover, because most domestic vacuums are not up to the job and it is not reasonable to expect you to keep professional kit for the one morning a week we are there.
For full pricing across every service we run, the prices page has it all in one place.
Domestic clean or deep clean, which do I need
This one confuses people all the time, so here it is plainly:

| Domestic clean | Deep clean | |
|---|---|---|
| Frequency | Recurring: weekly, fortnightly, monthly | One-off, usually annually or after specific events |
| What it tackles | Everyday dirt, surface dust, routine maintenance | Ingrained grime, limescale build-up, neglected corners, a post-party or pre-sale reset |
| Duration | 2.5 to 4 hours for most homes | 5 to 8 hours, often with two cleaners |
| When to book it | Ongoing, you want a maintained home | Things got away from you, guests coming, putting the place on the market, a new tenancy starting |
| Rate | From £22/hr | From £30/hr, see deep clean |
The pattern most of our customers settle on is a one-off deep clean to start, then a weekly or fortnightly regular slot after that. Two or three years of consistent domestic cleaning and the home never needs another deep clean. Skip the weekly and the deep clean creeps back onto the to-do list within about eighteen months.
Why pay for cleaning at all
Worth saying plainly. Paying someone to clean your home is not a moral question and it is not a sign of laziness. It is a time-value calculation, and for most of our customers the maths is obvious the moment they do it. Three hours a week at £22 an hour is £66. Three hours a week back in your life, at whatever your time is actually worth, is in most households a good deal more than £66. The only reason the sum feels fraught is a particular British guilt about outsourcing housework, which is a bit daft in 2026 when most of us happily pay someone to make our coffee every morning.
One other thing. We pay our cleaners properly: above the London Living Wage, all of them employed rather than self-employed, with holiday pay and sick pay. We mention it because the cleaning industry has a grim history of treating people badly, and a lot of the very cheap quotes that float around exist because someone is being underpaid for them to exist. Our pricing reflects paying a real wage, and we think that is a reasonable thing to care about.
How booking works
- Ring 0333 555 2076. Tell us the size of the property, how many bedrooms and bathrooms, and roughly how often you want us. We suggest a realistic visit length and give you a price on the phone.
- Free first-visit assessment. For regular bookings we do a short walk-around on the first visit to understand the property. Five or ten minutes at the start of the first clean, no extra cost, and it saves a lot of “what do you want me to do about that” later.
- The same cleaner where possible. We match you with a cleaner who works your area and has your preferred slot free, and we do everything we can to keep the same person assigned to you. Most of our domestic customers have had the same cleaner for years. If your regular is ever off sick or on holiday, we cover with someone briefed on your property.
- Keys, codes or door handover. Most customers leave a key with us after the first few visits, kept in a secure system at our office, tagged only with a reference number, never with your address. Alternatives are key safes, concierge drop-offs, or just being home when we arrive.
- Photos on exit. Our cleaners send a quick set of photos of the finished rooms when they leave, so you get a short “done, see you next week” message and know the job has happened even when you are not there.
Other services our domestic customers often book
- Carpet cleaning. Once or twice a year on top of the regular hoovering. Different job, different kit, and it genuinely extends the life of good carpets.
- Oven cleaning. Twice a year as a rule of thumb, or before a landlord inspection. We strip it properly rather than wiping the door.
- Upholstery cleaning. Sofas, armchairs, dining chairs. Especially useful with pets or pale fabric.
- Window cleaning. Exterior windows, monthly or quarterly. Surprisingly affordable as an add-on for most houses.
- Deep clean. Before hosting, before moving, before the house goes on the market, or every couple of years as a reset.
- End of tenancy. If you are renting and moving out, this is the clean that gets your deposit back.
Frequently asked questions
How often should I book a cleaner for my home?
Weekly suits most family households, dual-income couples, and anyone who entertains or works from home. Fortnightly is the sweet spot for smaller households with steady habits. Monthly is enough for tidy couples or single-occupant homes where not much happens between visits. If you are not sure, start fortnightly and step up or down after a month. We do not tie you into anything long-term, and you can change frequency with a week’s notice.
Do I need to provide cleaning products or equipment?
No. We bring everything: professional-grade vacuums, microfibres, pH-matched solutions for different surfaces, mop systems, the lot. If you have a product you specifically want us to use, a favourite floor cleaner, a particular eco brand, something hypoallergenic for a baby or an allergy-prone family member, we will happily use yours instead. Just leave it out.
Do I need to be home during the clean?
Rarely. Most of our domestic customers leave a key with us, a key safe code, or instructions with a concierge. The cleaner arrives, does the clean, messages you photos, locks up, and goes. A few customers prefer to be home, especially in the first few months, and that is fine. Just tell us which.
Will I get the same cleaner every time?
Yes, wherever possible. We match you with someone who works your area, has the right slot free, and fits what you have asked for. The large majority of our regular customers see the same cleaner every visit, for years on end. When your regular is off for holiday or illness, we cover with someone briefed on your property, a short handover note with the essentials, so the standard does not drop.
What if I am not happy with a clean?
Ring us within 24 hours and we come back and redo whatever was not right, free. No arguing, no small print. It does not happen often, but when it does we fix it rather than getting defensive about it. If it keeps happening with a particular cleaner, we move you to someone else.
What is your policy on breakages?
Things break occasionally. If it is our fault, and we will be honest about it, we replace it or cover the cost up to our public liability limit of £5 million. In practice, damage during a regular clean is very rare. It is not the same risk profile as a removals job. For high-value items you are worried about, point them out on the first visit and we will steer clear.
Can I request eco-friendly products?
Yes. Our standard range is already EU Ecolabel certified and low-VOC, but if you want something specific, Ecover, Method, Bio-D, anything like that, either leave yours out or tell us and we will bring the brand you prefer. No extra cost.

Are your cleaners insured and vetted?
Yes. Every cleaner is employed directly by Monster Cleaning Ltd, not self-employed, not subcontracted, right-to-work checked, DBS-checked where appropriate, trained on our own syllabus for at least two weeks before they work solo, and covered under our £5m public liability and £10m employer’s liability. Paperwork on request.
Can I pause or cancel my regular slot?
Yes. 48 hours’ notice for a skipped visit. Two weeks’ notice to cancel or pause a regular booking entirely. No contracts, no cancellation fees, no pressure. Long-term tie-ins are usually a sign that a business does not trust its own service to keep you around.
What if I have pets or kids at home during the clean?
Completely fine. Our cleaners are used to working around cats, dogs, toddlers, and the occasional passive-aggressive cockatiel. Tell us anything relevant, if the dog needs to stay in one room, if there is a gecko we should not surprise, if a particular door needs keeping shut, and we will work around it.
What areas do you cover?
All London boroughs (Zones 1 to 6 and most of the M25 catchment), Greater Liverpool, and Greater Manchester. Ring 0333 555 2076 with your postcode and we will confirm.
