The coronavirus (COVID-19) has been the cause of chaos and panic all over the world in the past couple of weeks as the virus seems to spread all over the globe. With flights to infected countries, planned vacations canceled and businesses on the edge it’s important to know how to protect yourself from the virus. As it can be transferred by objects containing the bacteria, hygiene is very important to keep your health. Don’t panic and follow these simple steps to clean your living space as well as protect yourself from the coronavirus.
– Wash your hands often
This isn’t a step in cleaning your home but it’s probably one of the most important things when it comes to protecting yourself from the virus. It’s an important step in protecting yourself from any type of viruses and flues actually. When you come back home the first thing that you need to do before you touch anything is to wash your hands with soap and warm water.
– Do not touch your face with dirty hands
Following the first thing on our list, the next thing is to never touch your face when your hands are dirty and you haven’t wash them in a couple of hours especially when you have been in crowded places.
– Don’t walk inside your home with shoes
Instead, leave them next to the door. Walking with the shoes that you walk in all day on the outside is never a good idea regardless if we are talking about protecting your home from COVID-19 or any other bacteria or disease out there. Your shoes pick up all types of germs and bacteria that are being transferred all over your home. Our team advises you to pick up slippers that you are only going to use indoors. Think about it as killing two birds with one stone – you protect your home both from germs and dirt.
– Do your laundry regularly
All of the clothes you wear when you are going out should immediately be washed upon getting back home. And all of the jackets you use shouldn’t be worn indoors. Leave them on a hanger next to your shoes.
– Disinfect your phone
Your phone is a breeding ground for germs and is packed with them. Make sure to wipe it with disinfecting wipes on a daily basis.
– Wipe door handles and light switches
Similar to your phone, door handles, light switches, and remotes need to be disinfected on a regular basis. Simply use a disinfecting wipe. Also, avoid touching door handles when you are out of the house. Whenever you touch elevator buttons, for example, always wash your hands afterward, or use a disinfecting wipe.
– Disinfect using products containing bleach
Such a harsh chemical like bleach is one of the best things to use when you want to disinfect an object. Make sure to wipe down frequently touched areas in your home using cleaning products containing bleach.
– Make sure to clean your toilet
We know that cleaning your toilet is probably your least favorite activity but you need to do it more frequently. You can use bleach as well.
– Consider booking a professional deep cleaning
