There are plenty of incredible Japanese restaurants in Chiswick that it can be pretty challenging choosing where to go.
This is why we decided to gather all of our favourite Japanese restaurants in the area and share them with you in this list!
We highly recommend partaking in the delectable cuisine at the four most exquisite establishments offering Japanese fare in the charming district of Chiswick.
Yuma Sushi
First on our list is Yuma Sushi – a small boutique Japanese restaurant with an incredible staff, simple yet delicious food, and an amazing atmosphere!
The chefs have over 40 years of experience and they prepare fresh sushi every single day using only the best and freshest ingredients!
The restaurant may be named Yuma Sushi but don’t let that fool you – they don’t serve only sushi, the menu is also focused on other traditional Japanese dishes like ramen noodles, Katsu curry, tempura, and poke bowls!
We love all of their sushi and we always order a few rolls when we visit, however, we also want to recommend their Soft Shell Crab Tempura and the Chilli Chicken Ramen Noodles!
They also have very interesting desserts you have to try – especially the Tempura Chocolate Dorayaki with chocolate sauce!

Hare and Tortoise
Next on our list is Hare and Tortoise – a very popular Japanese restaurant in Chiswick that many love! The venue is super chic and it’s minimalist-style with wooden furniture and wooden floors.
But, of course, the star of the show is the food, not the interior design so we will focus on their menu!
They have it all – from salads, tempura, ramen, and donburi to sushi, sashimi, nigiri, and maki! We always start off with the Sashimi Salad (raw fish, green leaves, tomato, tobiko, shoyu-based dressing with wasabi and yuzu flavour!
We love everything on their menu – especially all of the sushi and the ramen noodles. We recommend the Grilled Chicken Ramen and the Curry Laksa (Rice noodles, spicy coconut curry soup, grilled chicken, fishcake slices, prawns, squid, deep-fried tofu, beansprouts, cucumber) as well as the Gourmet Selection Sushi Box (Salmon, tuna and inari nigiri, kani gunkan, ikura gunkan, 4 california maki, 6 negi hamachi maki, 2 pieces of salmon, tuna and yellowtail sashimi)!

Kuyamoto
The next authentic Japanese restaurant on our list is Kuyamoto. For some reason, it’s not as popular as the other places on our list, however, this should not stop you from visiting because they truly are a hidden gem! The staff is friendly, the food is incredible, and the overall service is excellent which is exactly what we are looking for in a good restaurant!
Their menu consists of traditional Japanese food with a modern twist – after all, the chefs are extremely creative and innovative which makes this restaurant very exciting!
We recommend you start off with either Prawn Katsu (Crispy king prawns with wasabi mayo) or a Chicken Gyoza!
Next on their menu, you will find all of the sushi rolls – from Tempura, Nigiri, Sashimi to Maki, Uramaki, and much more! We really enjoy their sushi and we always order it whenever we visit Kuyamoto!
Of course, they also have Japanese curry, salads, noodles, grilled fish and meat as well as poke bowls to choose from.
And last but not least – don’t forget to leave room for dessert! They have incredible Matcha brownie, matcha cheesecake, apple dumplings, and tropical fruit spring rolls all of which are served with vanilla ice cream!
