If you love Japanese cuisine and you are wondering which restaurant to choose for lunch or dinner – we got you!

We decided to share all of our favourite Japanese restaurants in Canary Wharf with you so you know where to go for the best Japanese food!

The gastronomic delights of the Japanese cuisine are well represented in Canary Wharf, and our esteemed team of cleaners has put together a list of five exceptional establishments that are simply a must-visit.

ROKA Canary Wharf

Roka is a pretty high-end sophisticated Japanese restaurant that offers delicious sushi and other traditional Japanese dishes. The venue has bamboo furniture and polished wooden floors which makes it super stylish. Keep in mind that the prices are a bit high but the quality of the food and the atmosphere is amazing so it’s worth visiting at least once!

Aside from the sushi, we want to focus on their Robata Grill because it is the star of the show. Most people visiting Roka go there for that. The gindara no saikyo-yaki which is black cod marinated in yuzu miso is probably one of our favourite things on the menu! Of course, we also really enjoy the kankoku fu kohitsuji (lamb cutlets, Korean spices) and the yaki hotate which is a scallop skewer with wasabi and shiso.

Sticks’n’Sushi Canary Wharf

This restaurant offers all sorts of amazing Japanese food – not just sushi. From seafood and fish meals to chicken, pork, beef, and vegetable skewers!

We highly recommend your visit Sticks’n’Sushi with a bigger group of friends or family because they have these incredible big meals that are meant to be shared between a few people. For example, they have a huge Sushi Set called “Four Meal Frive” with 92 pcs of sushi – salmon, seared salmon, shrimp, and tuna nigiri and nanban, pink alaska, spicy tuna, ebi panko, hell’s kitchen, shake aïoli, chirashi maki. This set costs £100, however, it will feel at least 3 people, if not more! This restaurant is definitely worth going to if you love sushi!

IPPUDO

IPPUDO is a restaurant serving mainly ramen, however, they do have other things on the menu but if you are looking for a place to eat sushi, make sure to check out the other places on our list because IPPUDO does not offer sushi.

They have pretty interesting starters – you definitely need to try the homemade celery pickles and the chicken wings with black pepper sauce. Of course, the reason many people – including our team, goes to IPPUDO is because of the incredible ramen!

Yuhoki Japanese Restaurant

Yuhoki is a great Japanese restaurant offering sushi and a few other traditional meals. The prices are pretty affordable, the portions are big, and the staff is always super friendly.

They have great starters – the Chicken Gyoza and the Salmon Tataki are incredible. Next on the menu, you will find sushi and sashimi, maki rolls, and sushi boxes. We usually get the Sushi Set number 3 because it contains 51pcs yet is only £36.90.

They also offer quite a few main dishes with teriyaki sauce – beef, chicken, salmon, or tofu teriyaki.

Uoichi

Uoichi is a small restaurant offering authentic and high-quality Japanese food you must try! The prices are quite affordable yet everything on the menu is always prepared with fresh ingredients!

We highly recommend trying their Salmon Sashimi on Rice, the Tofu Salad, the Grilled Rib-Eye Steak, or the Yellowtail Sashimi! If you are vegan, keep in mind they have plenty of vegan main dishes on the menu!

And always make sure to get Japanese Pickles as a side dish because they are incredible!

Finally, they do serve Matcha Ice Cream – and we are positive you will want to taste it!
