We can all agree that Indian cuisine is extremely tasty. This is why you are looking for the best Indian restaurants in Hackney, right? Well, since our team loves going out and trying out different restaurants, we decided to share all of our favourite places in the area with you – so you know exactly where to go enjoy a nice lunch or dinner!
We implore you to grace your presence at the top-rated Indian dining establishments in Hackney, for they are truly worth experiencing.
Lavang Spice
First on our list is Lavang Spice – one of our favourite Indian restaurants in Hackney. The place is casual and they serve delicious food that is always prepared from fresh ingredients and traditional spices. Also, the prices are super affordable and the portion sizes are big!
On their menu, you will find traditional starters like Lamb Chops, Garlic Mushrooms, and Samosa. Then, they have tandoori dishes, a few signature delicious dishes, biriyani, balti dishes, and other traditional Indian food.
We highly recommend you start off with Duck Tikka and Chicken Samosa then move on to their Tandoori Fish, Lamb Shashlik, or the Garlic Chicken. These are definitely our favourite dishes off of the menu. Of course, everything else is also super tasty.

Meezban Indian Cuisine
Meezban is another incredible Indian restaurant that you are going to love. The chef is extremely talented and he pays attention to even the smallest detail. He is experienced in cooking Indian traditional food and we love going to this place because of it!
Starters include Aloo Tikki (mashed fried spicy potato with breadcrumbs served with sweet and sour sauce), Sheek Kebab, Lamb Dossa (pancake stuffed with lamb, potatoes), and many more.
The main dishes include traditional tandoori dishes, masala, curry, biriyani, and plenty of other traditional dishes. We highly recommend trying out the Meezban specials – for example, the Murgh Madura (chicken breast fillets marinated in turmeric and spices), the Chicken Salsa Masala as well as the Chicken Nirala. All of these dishes are extremely spicy so keep that in mind.

Standard Tandoori
Standard Tandoori – another casual Indian restaurant perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. They have incredible food that is well-prepared, the staff is always friendly, and the overall service is excellent – which is a recipe for a good time!
When it comes to their menu, it’s pretty traditional. They have starters, tandoori grill, biriyani, balti dishes, curry, masala, and a few other traditional dishes. We highly recommend their Biriyani, the King Prawn Jafron, and the Green Chilli Massala.
They also have an incredible Meal Deal for 2 people that is only £20.00. It consists of one onion bhaji, a chicken or a lamb masala, a chicken bhuna, 1 pilau rice, plain naan bread, and two papadoms.

Attawa
And last on our list is Attawa – a very unique and interesting restaurant offering Indian food. They opened last year – and people have been loving their food. Our team has often ordered home delivery from them, and we have recently decided to go and actually sit in the restaurant instead of ordering at home.
Usually, Indian restaurants have this huge menu with every traditional meal you can imagine, however, Attawa has focused on quality over quantity – and their menu has a selection of the most popular Indian dishes.
They have a few starters, 5 Tandoori dishes including Lamb Chops, Tandoor Paneer, Chicken Tikka, Lamb Sheek, and Masala Prawn, a few other traditional dishes like Biriyani, and traditional naan bread.
Not only is everything super delicious but they also have an incredible selection of desserts that you need to try. We highly recommend their Rose Cheesecake and the Gulab Jamun!
