First on our list is Saravanaa Bhavan – probably the most popular Vegetarian Indian restaurant in Newham. Yes, first on our list is a Vegetarian restaurant. We know that many of our readers are not vegetarians, however, we must admit that this place prepares super unique and interesting dishes that, in our opinion, are suitable for every taste. So even if you do eat meat, we highly recommend you visit Saravanaa Bhavan because you will be amazed at how delicious everything is!
They have fantastic starters – some of our favourites are the Curd Vada (fried lentils doughnut in yoghurt with grated carrot, coriander, chilli), the Chilli Baby Corn (Baby corn sauteed with spicy herbs), the Szechwan Paneer (cottage cheese and capsicum cooked in red chilli oil), and the Devil Potato (potato, crushed red chilli, Indian spices)!
Next, we highly recommend their Paneer Dosa (rice and lentil crepe stuffed with cottage cheese), the Cheese Dosa (rice and lentil crepe stuffed with cheese), and the Paneer Butter Cheese Masala Dosa (rice and lentil crepe with onion, capsicum, tomato, 2 spicy chutneys, cheese)!
They also have a huge selection of desserts you shouldn’t miss out on! We love their Falooda (vermicelli noodles, vanilla ice cream, slithery black basil seeds, mixed fruits, milk, strawberry jelly, rose syrup)!

Udaya Kerala
Next we have Udaya Kerala – another very popular Indian restaurant serving both non-vegetarian and vegetarian dishes – the perfect place for everyone that loves traditional Indian cuisine! Their food is truly divine and always prepared from fresh ingredients which is why we love going to Udaya Kerala.
We always start off with either a Vegetable Samosa, Prawn Pakora, or a Mushroom Soup!
When it comes to their main dishes, we highly recommend the Lamb Chops, the Chicken Korma, the Chicken Jalfrezi, all of their Dosa, and, of course, all of their Biriyani dishes (especially the Egg Biriyani and the Prawn Biriyani)!
If you don’t eat meat, they have a huge section on their menu with Vegetable Curry’s including Parippu, Vegetable Bhuna, Mushroom Curry, and many more!

Taste of India Pure Vegetarian
Third, on our list is yet another incredible Vegetarian Indian restaurant located in Newham. Taste of India is extremely popular and loved by many because of the delicious food they serve, the friendly staff, and the excellent service. We highly recommend you visit this place – even if you eat meat! It’s always a good idea to try out something new, right? Plus, they are considered a cafe rather than a restaurant and they have plenty of starters, light meals, and drinks!
We love all of their starters – especially the Chilli Garlic Potato, the Paneer Manchurian, the Veg Samosa, and the Gobi Manchurian Dry!
Aside from starters, they have light meals (Tiffin) like Mini Idly dipped in ghee sambar, Ghee Pongal, and Idly with Medhu Vada.
When it comes to their main dishes, they serve Dosa, Tandoori dishes, rice dishes, etc.
And if you aren’t that hungry and just want to enjoy a nice drink with something sweet, we highly recommend going for a Mango Lassi, Rose Milk, or Sweet Lassi with Rasa Malai or a Falooda (Served with ice cream)!

And last on our list is Samrat Tandoori – a lovely little Indian restaurant serving both traditional Indian food and a few unique dishes with a modern twist!
Their starters include traditional Chicken Tikka, Chicken Chaat, Samosa (either vegetable or lamb), Onion Bhaji, King Prawn Puri, and much more!
They also have a section on their menu with “Exclusive Starters” which include their special and unique options like Mussels with curry leaves and spices, Spicy fish cake with fresh ginger and garlic, Cauliflower cooked with spices, honey, sesame seeds, and many more options you are going to love!
Then they have all of their main dishes – Tandoori, Korma, Massala, Madras, Balti, Curry, Jalfrezi, etc.
Of course, they also have “Exclusive Dishes” – creative and unique dishes you won’t be able to order anywhere else. We highly recommend the cubes of chicken with spices and grated coconut, lamb with gravy, curry leaves as well as the lamb with spiced pumpkin!
