Since our team loves Italian cuisine and we are often going out to different restaurants in Teddington, we decided to share some of our favourite Italian places in the area with you so you know exactly where to go whenever you are craving pasta, pizza, and other traditional dishes!

Top 4 Italian Restaurants In Teddington You Must Visit

La Dolce Vita

First on our list is La Dolce Vita – a lovely little Italian restaurant that has exposed bricks and wooden floors. It feels like you are entering someone’s home – more specifically, the dining room. We love that about La Dolce Vita because it not only feels like you are visiting an old friend but the food is also incredible. They have homemade pasta, delicious pizza, and all sorts of other traditional Italian dishes.

They have a few starters because they are focused mainly on the main dishes – we really enjoy the Arancini di Carne starter (Fried rice balls filled with mozzarella, beef ragu, served with arrabbiata sauce).

Next on the menu is the homemade pasta – we highly recommend the Spaghetti Bolognese, the Penne with Fresh Salmon (with tomato and cream sauce), and the Risotto with chicken, mushrooms and spinach!

If you are craving pizza then don’t worry because they prepare delicious pizza – and we are certain you will find your favourite one on their menu!

And last but not least – don’t forget to leave room for desserts. We love their Panna cotta with berry compote as well as the homemade lemon tart!

Shambles

Next on our list is Shambles – probably our favourite Italian restaurant in Teddington. It was founded by a brother and sister that have a huge passion for food and wanted to create an incredible restaurant with a relaxed yet stylish interior where guests can enjoy delicious dishes. The staff is super friendly, the atmosphere is cosy, and the food is tasty – and they even have a brick fireplace! We also really enjoy going there because of their incredible garden that is filled with flowers and plants.

Now, keep in mind that this is no ordinary Italian restaurant with a huge selection of pasta and pizza dishes. In fact, they do not serve pizza at all!

The whole restaurant as well as the menu and the ingredients they use are pretty sophisticated, however, the prices aren’t high at all. In fact, it’s a pretty affordable place and we love that about Shambles!

We highly recommend you start off with either Inferno (black tiger prawns, chilli, garlic butter, artichokes) or Milanese (honeycomb veal tripe, pancetta, soffritto, beans, tomato).

Then move on to their main dishes – all of which are incredible! We really enjoy the Gnocchetti (homemade pasta, four kinds of cheese, radicchio, courgette), the Orecchiette (egg-free pasta, basil, garlic, tomato, olives, chilli), the Agnello (slow-cooked lamb fillet, peperonata, basil, polenta), and the Crespelle (pancakes with spinach, ricotta, butternut squash, beetroot)!

And if you enjoy desserts then don’t miss out on ordering a Tiramisu, Raviolini (pastries filled with chocolate, hazelnut), or Spuma (yoghurt, honeycomb, pomegranate, pistachio)!

Piazza Firenze

Piazza Firenze is the place to visit whenever you are craving pizza! Of course, they have plenty of other incredible options like pasta, risotto, salads, and a few other meat and fish traditional main dishes, however, their pizza is incredible!

We always go for either their Rucoletta pizza (Mozzarella cheese, parma ham, parmesan, rocket, tomato), the Quattro Stagioni (tomato, mozzarella, pepperoni sausage, mushrooms, artichokes, ham), the Toscana (mozzarella cheese, tomato, crispy bacon, Italian sausage, egg), or the Fiorentina (mozzarella cheese, tomato, spinach, egg, olives, garlic)!

We also really enjoy their Nicoise Salad (tuna, egg, anchovy, capers, olives, french beans, potatoes, house dressing), the Baccala (Roasted cod fillet with saute potatoes, cherry tomatoes, olives, balsamic, a salad), the Tagliatelle Ragu (with slow-cooked duck ragu with herbs, mushrooms), and the Spaghetti Manzo (with beef strips, spring onion, peas, truffle, garlic, chilli, tomato sauce)!

And, of course, it won’t be an Italian restaurant if they didn’t have incredible dessert options, right? Go for the homemade Tiramisu, the Crepe Vesuvio (pancake with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, almonds), or Torta Di Formagi (Passion Fruit and white chocolate cheesecake, served with ice cream)!

Cafe Mimmo & Pizza

And last on our list, we have a casual lovely little cafe that serves Italian traditional dishes. It is a family-run business, opened in 1997. We highly recommend this place for a quick lunch or dinner.

They have pizza, panuozzo (which is a Neapolitan sandwich baked in a pizza oven), wraps, ciabatta, paninis, and incredible desserts that go very well with their coffee, lemonades, iced teas, or Arizona teas!
