Top 4 Italian Restaurants In Watford You Must Visit
L’Artista
First on our list is L’Artista – a restaurant established in 1985 with a beautiful rustic interior, excellent service, friendly staff, and the best Italian food in Watford!
They have it all – cold and hot starters, pasta, pizza, plenty of other traditional main dishes, and some of the best Italian desserts in the area!
We usually start off with a Prosciutto E Melone (parma ham, melon), Mozzarella Di Bufala E Prosciutto, or
Pepata Di Cozze (mussels, garlic, wine, tomato sauce).
When it comes to their main dishes, we highly recommend the Ravioli Dell’ Artista (with ricotta and spinach, cream, tomato, and mushroom sauce), the
Tagliatelle Con Polpette (with meatballs), Spaghetti San Giuveniello (with tomato sauce, capers, olives and chilli), the Penne Chicchiricchi (with chicken, mushrooms and cream) as well as the Gnocchi Al 4 Formaggi (gnocchi with four kinds of cheese).
And, of course, make sure you leave room for dessert – we recommend the Tiramisu and the Profiteroles.

Pepe Rosso
Next on our list is Pepe Rosso – a very casual restaurant with a relaxing atmosphere, super friendly staff, and some of the best Italian stone-baked pizzas in Watford!
We usually start off with their Caprese Salad (with Tomato, Fresh Mozzarella, Green Pesto, Mixed Side Salad) then we move on to their delicious pizza.
Of course, everything else on the menu is just as incredible as the pizza – for example, we love the Pollo Alla Cream (Fresh Grilled Chicken, Mushroom Sauce, Mash Potatoes, a salad), the Meat Lasagne, and the Penne Delle Casa (oven-bakes pasta with chicken, mushrooms, cream, mozzarella).

Fratelli Authentic Italian
Another excellent Italian restaurant in Watford we are certain you are going to love is Fratelli. They have some of our favourite pasta dishes!
But before you get to their main dishes, you have to try their starters – especially the Melanzane Alla Parmigiana (aubergine, tomato, mozzarella), the Garlic Pizza Bread, and their Insalata di Mare with fresh seafood.
Our favourite pasta dishes on their menu include their Linguini Marinara (with mussels, squid, mixed seafood, tomato sauce), the Tagliatelle al Salmone (with salmon, peas, cream sauce), the Penne al Meatballs (with homemade meatballs), the Gnocchi Alla Sorrentina (with mozzarella, parmesan, tomato sauce), and their Ravioli di Zucca (filled with butternut squash, cherry tomato sauce, fresh basil).

Frankie & Benny’s
And last on our list is Frankie & Benny’s – Italian chain restaurants with locations all over London. We have previously talked about this place but they happen to have a restaurant in Watford that we visit quite often which is why we featured them in this list too. They are very popular and we are sure that you have already been to Frankie & Benny’s especially if you are a fan of Italian food but what is most interesting is that they also have plenty of American comfort foods on their menu which go very well with all of their Italian dishes!
When it comes to their pasta, we really enjoy the Arrabbiata (with roasted red peppers, red onions, green chillies, spicy tomato and garlic sauce), the traditional Chicken Carbonara, the Frankie’s Classic Meatballs (with pork & beef meatballs, tomato and Bolognese sauce, mozzarella, fresh basil), and the Bolognese.
