It’s time to share our favourite Mediterranean restaurants located in Bermondsey with you so you know exactly where to go for a nice lunch or dinner!

Lokma Turkish Grill & Bar

First we have Lokma – a stunning Turkish restaurant with a vibrant and stylish interior that is colourful. But aside from an incredible venue, this place also offers the most delicious Turkish cuisine in the area.

They have cold and hot starters like Stuffed vine leaves, Falafel, Hummus, Halloumi Cheese, and Fried Squid Rings.

Main dishes include delicious traditional charcoal-grilled kebabs like Chicken Shish, Adana Kofte, Lamb Chops, of course, all of which are served with bulgur, salad, grilled tomato and grilled peppers.

Our favourite desserts are their Baklava and the Rice Pudding!

The Real Greek Bankside

Another incredible Mediterranean restaurant that we recommend you visit is The Real Greek where the menu is filled with delicious greek dishes you have to try. On top of the impressive menu, the venue of this place is definitely breathtaking and very beautiful.

Traditional starters include Tzatziki (yoghurt, cucumber, gherkin, garlic), Pastry with spinach and feta cheese, and our favourite salad – Greek Salad (with tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, Greek olives, red onion, feta cheese, olive oil, oregano).

The main dishes that you have to try are the Souvlaki Wraps (fries, tomatoes, and onions with either chicken/ pork/ lamb/ falafel).

We also recommend the Loukaniko Beef & Pork Sausage Skewer (served with Greek Slaw), the Chicken Monastiraki (marinated chicken, tzatziki, onions, tomatoes), and the Moussaka.

Tas Restaurant Borough

Next on our list is another restaurant that offers Turkish cuisine – Tas. Similar to the other places on our list, this one also has a stunning venue and overall lovely ambience. It’s a very popular restaurant so you might have already been there.

Starters include hot and cold options like traditional Falafel, Borek (pastry filled with feta cheese), Zeytinyagli Patlican (aubergine, olive oil, tomatoes, garlic, peppers, chickpeas), and Tabbouleh salad (parsley, mint, tomatoes, onions, bulgur, olive oil, lemon juice).

When it comes to their main dishes, you can never go wrong with their charcoal-grilled meats: Kofte (skewer of lamb mince, served with couscous) or Chicken Shish (served with couscous). We also really enjoy their Moussaka, the Grilled Sea Bass, and the Kalamar Tava (squid rings with a sweet AND sour sauce, a salad).

Cafe Murano Bermondsey

Last on our list is an Italian restaurant – Cafe Murano. This is such an incredible place with a lovely interior and excellent food. The menu is very unique and creative because they have combined traditional Italian food and put a modern twist on it. Keep in mind that their menu changes quite often in order for them to keep everything interesting and be able to use only fresh and seasonal ingredients.

For example, you can try very unique starters you won’t find anywhere else – Ricotta with broccoli, hazelnut pesto or Grilled octopus with chickpeas and orange.

Main dishes mainly include pasta such as Risotto with crab and basil, Gnocchi with lamb ragu, lemon, mint, and Linguini with clams, chilli, and almond pangrattato.

For dessert, we recommend the Vanilla panna cotta with figs and the Tiramisu.
