Top 4 Mediterranean Restaurants In Richmond According To Our Team
Don Fernando’s
First place on our list is actually a Spanish restaurant that has an incredible selection of traditional tapas. The venue itself is beautifully decorated and instantly makes you feel like you are sitting in a restaurant in Spain which is why we love it so much. We highly recommend you go there because of the food, the ambiance, and the excellent service!
The tapas include options like Boquerones en Vinagre (marinated anchovies in white wine vinegar, olive oil, and Balsamic), Pinchito de Rape y Jamon (monkfish and Spanish ham skewers), Croquetas de Jamon y Pollo (croquettes with Spanish ham and chicken), Berejenas Domingo (fried aubergine with honey).
And, of course, the star of the show is the Paella. They have two options – Paella Marinera which is a seafood paella with saffron rice, monkfish, swordfish, mussels, squid, king prawns as well as Paella Valenciana that has chicken, pork, shellfish, seafood.

Treviso Restaurant
Next we have Treviso – an incredible Italian restaurant that we love visiting. In fact, this is not the first time we have talked about it. The interior is gorgeous, they have an outdoor sitting area covered in flowers, and the food is divine – what more do you need, right?
When it comes to their starters, we highly recommend you try out the Capesante al Pistachio (scallops with pistachios, king prawns, potatoes puree) and the Polpette Della Nonna (meatballs, tomato sauce, parmesan).
Next on their menu are the pasta, risotto, and a few other traditional meat and fish main dishes. We definitely recommend their pasta – especially the Tagliatelle al Salmon (with salmon, courgettes, tomatoes, and cream), the Penne Arrabbiata (with onion, garlic, chili, white wine, tomato sauce), and the Penne al Ragu!
And if you have room for dessert, go for the Tiramisu or the Gelato!

L’assaggino
Next on our list is another Italian restaurant that we highly recommend you visit – L’assaggino. It’s little, warm, welcoming, and cozy. You can see how dedicated the owners are towards providing excellent service and experience to every customer. After all, L’assaggino is indeed a family-run restaurant and in our opinion, these places offer the best food because everyone on the team is passionate!
You can never go wrong with starting off with their Mussels with spicy tomato sauce and cherry tomatoes or the Oven-baked aubergine with mozzarella, tomato sauce, Parmigiano.
We are in love with their main dishes – the Gnocchi Viola Al Tartufo (Purple potato gnocchi, truffle cream, butter, Parmigiano), the Carbonara (Italian bacon, egg, black pepper, Parmigiano), the Tuna Steak, and the Tagliolino Nero Pomodorino e Pistacchio (black pasta, garlic, chili, olive oil, tomatoes, pistachio)!
For dessert, we recommend their Cannoli Siciliani (with sweet ricotta and pistachio)!

Alhambra
And last on our list is Alhambra – a lovely little restaurant where you can find delicious traditional Turkish food. In Richmond, there aren’t really that many places offering Turkish food – and if you love Mediterranean cuisine then you definitely also enjoy Turkish dishes!
Start with their incredible Vine Leaves (stuffed with rice, tomato, parsley), Falafel, or Grilled Halloumi (served with tomato, olive oil).
Then move on to their delicious flatbread wraps filled with traditional charcoal-grilled meat! We love the Kofta Flatbread Wrap (with grilled minced meat, grilled vegetables, a salad)!
