Top 4 Mediterranean Restaurants In Romford According To Our Team

Shish LEGENDS Fusion Turkish Meze

First on our list is definitely the most impressive Mediterranean restaurant in Romford you can visit – Shish Legends Fusion Turkish Meze. The menu consists mainly of traditional Turkish food – and, of course, everything is delicious. On top of that, the interior is beautiful and stylish, the staff is super friendly, and the overall experience of visiting this restaurant is excellent!

We highly recommend starting off with their Mixed Cold Meze (including hummus, tarama, cacik, patlican soslu, and baba ganoush) which is a great way to try almost all of their cold starters. We also really enjoy their Lentil soup and the Falafel.

When it comes to their main dishes, you can never go wrong with an Adana Kofta (with bulgur and a salad), a Lamb Shish, or a Chicken Beyti
(grilled minced chicken with onion, garlic, parsley, pepper, sauce, a salad, bulgur).

Another great option is their Platter for Two (which includes two pieces of lamb chops, four pieces of chicken shish, Adana kofte, four pieces of lamb shish, four pieces of lamb ribs, and four pieces of chicken wings, salad, and rice).

Of course, you also have to leave room for their Baklava!

Mangal Meze Restaurant

The next restaurant on our list is Mangal Meze – yet another incredible Turkish place where you will encounter very friendly staff, a stylish interior, and fantastic traditional dishes.

Our favourite starters from Mangal Meze are the Stuffed vine leaves, the Lahmacun (Turkish pizza), their Cacik (cucumber, dried mint, garlic, yogurt), and the Humus Kavurma (hummus with sautéed lamb).

Main dishes include traditional doner wraps such as Lamb Doner, Adana Kofte Wrap, and even a vegan option – the Falafel and Hummus wrap. Another favourite of ours is the traditional charcoal-grilled kebabs.

On their menu, you will also see delicious spaghetti such as King Prawns Spaghetti and plenty of fish main dishes. The Grilled Sea Bass is lovely and is served with a salad and chips.

Ciao Bella

Next on our list, we have an Italian restaurant that is very well-known – Ciao Bella. It’s a family-run place that is very stylish, modern, and cozy.

Of course, you have to start off with Calamari Fritti (with homemade tartar sauce), Brie Fritto (deep-fried brie with cranberry sauce), or Pate Della Casa (homemade chicken liver pate with bacon)!

As you can imagine, the main dishes include excellent pasta and pizza. In fact, in our opinion, their pasta is the best in Romford. We love the traditional Spaghetti e Polpette (homemade tomato sauce, garlic, basil, homemade meatballs), the Linguine Alla Pescatore (with clams, mussels, seafood, garlic, wine, homemade tomato sauce), and Cannelloni di Ricotta!

Bunno

You may be surprised to know that our final favourite Mediterranean restaurant in Romford is actually not a restaurant at all – it’s a coffee shop with an incredible selection of pizza and pasta, and we couldn’t miss featuring Bunno on our list because we often go there, and we are certain you are going to love it too.

On top of that, they have won the “Most Authentic Pasta Restaurant in East London” award which is more than enough to convince you that visiting Bunno is worth it.

Their pasta is homemade which is why we highly recommend you do try the Basil Pesto Pasta with Grana Padano Cheese, the traditional Bolognese, the Black Truffle Ravioli, or the Crema di Funghi Pasta (Mushrooms, Garlic, Onion, Cream Sauce).

And since it is a coffee shop, you will also find delicious homemade desserts such as Tiramisu, Panna Cotta, and Pastries.
