Our team is a huge fan of Greek food as well as Greek culture.

As most of our readers know, we love trying out different restaurants from time to time, whenever we have a day off. For sure, our favourite places to visit are the ones offering Greek food.

Usually, a traditional Greek restaurant is called a “taverna”. These restaurants are extremely fascinating – not only because of the food but because of the rich history and the interior. Once you visit a tavern, you will immediately feel like you have transported to Greece!

Today, we have gathered some of the best taverns in Soho so you can visit them and immerse yourself in the culture, try some amazing dishes, and have a good time!

We have discovered five preeminent establishments in Soho serving delectable Greek fare that are undoubtedly worthy of a visit!

The Real Greek

The Real Greek really managed to capture the greek hospitality and bring it to Soho.

When it comes to the food, it really is amazing. Everything on the menu is delicious and extremely well-made.

Our team loves ordering Halloumi Popcorn which comes served with greek honey and the Spicy Feta Dip as starters. Then, we suggest you getting the Souvlaki Wraps – you can’t go wrong with them!

If you don’t know what souvlaki wraps are then let us explain – flatbread with tzatziki, tomatoes, onions, herbs, and meat of choice.

Address: 50 Berwick Street Soho, London W1F 8SJ

Suvlaki Soho

In Suvlaki Soho, you can find Greek street food, a meat skewer either served on its own or in a pita wrap. We suggest you give Suvlaki Soho a try if you have never eaten Greek street food. If you have, then we are certain you come back to Sulvaki Soho pretty often!

Their menu is quite small but pretty straightforward. Our favourite souvlaki wrap offered in Suvlaki Soho is the Corn fed chicken, and you definitely need to try it yourself!

Address: 21 Bateman Street, London W1D 3AL

Pittabun

No matter how often our team goes to Pittabun, the food is always amazing. Pittabun is definitely a hidden gem we are happy to share with you!

Similar to Sulvaki Soho, Pittabun offers traditional Greek street food but with an exotic twist in most of the meals offered.

We definitely recommend you try their Souvlaki Bun – it has pork, homemade tzatziki, tomatoes, red onions, parsley, and fresh mint. If you want something different from the traditional souvlaki then get the Spicy Chicken Bun (chicken, homemade guacamole, onion and tomato salsa, cilantro, and mayo).

Address: 4 Newburgh Street, London W1F 7RF

Olives and Meze Soho

Olives and Meze Soho is one of the best Greek restaurants in Soho you can go to. They use only fresh locally sourced ingredients, organic virgin olive oil, and pretty healthy ingredients to make some traditional Greek dishes a lot more healthy so everyone can enjoy them.

Also, they have special gluten-free options as well as vegan!

They offer amazing salads that you can find in Greece. You can also create your own salad box which is a great way to be able to cater to every taste out there.

Olives and Meze Soho also has burgers – and the one with halloumi is amazing!

Address: 40 Great Windmill Street, Soho, London W1D 7LY

The Life Goddess

Every greek thinks that good quality food is the way to a healthy and happy life – and The Life Goddess has adapted this mindset as well.

They use only fruit and vegetables that have been ripened in Greece. Also, the meat and fish that they use are by local farmers and fishermen that use only environment-friendly methods to source their products.

We highly recommend you give The Life Goddess restaurant a try. Make sure you order the Moussaka, the Feta Fondue (spicy feta cheese, tomato sauce, and pita bread), the Octopus, and the Pork Souvlaki!
