We adore Mediterranean food – and by now we are certain that you love it as well. You probably have already seen how many times we have listed our favourite Mediterranean restaurants all across London – and now, it’s time to focus on Barnet!
That’s right, we will share our favourite Mediterranean restaurants in Barnet that offer delicious and diverse food worth trying!
Top 5 Mediterranean Restaurants In Barnet According To Our Team
Skewd Kitchen
The first restaurant on our list is Skewd Kitchen – a Turkish place that happened to be one of our favourite restaurants in Barnet in general! It’s also an award-winning place – it has won the British Kebab Awards in 2019. We have been going there for at least two years and we love it!
Make sure you start off with Cacik, Tarama, and Calamari. If you are going with a group of friends then definitely get the Skewd Family Platter – it has kisir, beetroot tartar, Adana kebab, chicken shish, lamb ribs, chicken wings, rice and bulgur, hummus, cacik, eggplant, chips, bread, salad, chili, and garlic sauce. This is an amazing way to try out plenty of traditional Turkish dishes without actually having to pay full price – plus, these are enough starters for 4-5 people!
Of course, next on their menu are all of the main dishes – from traditional charcoal-grilled meat like Adana and Lamb Shish to Veli Nazik. If this is your first time visiting Skewd then we recommend you order their Mixed Shish – it has lamb, chicken, rice/ bulgur, bread, garlic sauce, chilli sauce, a shepherd salad. Again, this is a great way to try more than one dish!

Ci Vediamo Li
Next on our list, we have a fabulous Italian restaurant – Ci Vediamo Li (which means “See You There”). It’s very stylish and modern yet it still feels welcoming, warm, and cosy. They even have a fireplace there! The only thing you need to keep in mind before going is that they do not serve pizza – they are focused on other traditional Italian main dishes!
Of course, the first thing you will find in their menu is all of the starters. We really enjoy their Gnocchi with mozzarella and a spicy tomato sauce and the Anchovies and Smoked Mozzarella sourdough Crostini (which is a traditional recipe from the notorious Jewish District of Rome)!
Next, we highly recommend their Spaghetti Alla Puttanesca) with chili, anchovies, capers, tuna, sun-dried tomatoes), the Crab Squid Ink Tortelloni with prawns, the Salmon fillet with passion fruit sauce as well as the Guanciotto al Marsala (slow-braised veal cheek, wine sauce) – these are our favourite!

Al Fresco
The third restaurant on our list is another Italian place that is very popular in Barnet. We really enjoy their food, how beautiful the venue is as well as how friendly and welcoming the staff is!
When it comes to their menu, you will find all of your favourite traditional Italian dishes. We really enjoy their starters especially the Polpette Rustiche (beef and veal meatballs with parmesan, tomato sauce, ciabatta) and the Gamberoni (King prawns with garlic, chilli, ginger). They also have incredible soups like their Zuppa di Pesce (homemade fish broth with tomato, white fish, mussels, baby prawns, served with a slice of toasted ciabatta)!
If you are more interested in their main dishes – they offer pizza, pasta, and all sorts of other Italian meat and fish dishes.
Their pizza is incredible and their pasta is divine – we highly recommend the Pappardelle Primavera (green beans, peas, pesto, fresh burrata cheese) and the Tagliatelle con Salsiccia (Italian sausage meat, mushroom, cream, truffle cream).
If you are craving something sweet go for a Tiramisu, Panna Cotta, or Gnocchi Fritti (gnocchi filled with Nutella)!

The Blue Olive
The Blue Olive is a Greek restaurant – a pretty popular and successful place! It’s family-run, and the owners have taken care of everything – from creating an incredible menu to decorating a beautiful venue so all guests can feel an amazing atmosphere. Of course, the staff is incredibly friendly as well. Overall, we are certain you are going to fall in love with this place!
They have incredible kebabs all of which are served in a Cyprus pitta bread – for example, we love the Pork kebab, the Sheftalia (traditional pork sausage), and the Lamb Kebab!
We also recommend trying out their other main dishes – Moussaka, Kleftiko, Stuffed Vine Leaves, and the Souvlaki!
They also have mouthwatering fish and seafood main dishes that you have to try out!

Souvlike It
And last on our list is another incredible Greek place. After all, we can’t make a list of the best Mediterranean restaurants in Barnet and not include at least two Greek places, right?
Souvlike It offers Greek street food – nothing fancy just simple and delicious. You will find things like Pitta Wraps, salads, pastries, and grilled meat.
The Pitta Wraps are the star of the show – chicken souvlaki, pork gyros, etc. Of course, they all come with tomato, lettuce, onions, chips, tzatziki!
