Top 5 Mediterranean Restaurants In Kingston Upon Thames You Must Visit

Cappadocia Restaurant

Cappadocia is a Turkish restaurant that serves incredibly tasty food that you need to try. If you love Turkish food then you will love this place. If you have never tried Turkish food then we highly recommend you visit Cappadocia because we are certain you will love the cuisine!

Start off either with a cold or hot meze (or both). We love the Tabouleh salad (chopped parsley with bulgur, tomato, spring onion, pomegranate, dressing) and the Kısır salad off of the cold starters. When it comes to the hot starters, we highly recommend the Lahmacun which is a Turkish pizza with minced lamb, mixed with fresh herbs, garlic, tomatoes, peppers, onions, parsley as well as the Sigara Böreği (pastry filled with feta cheese and spinach).

Next, you will find their main dishes – a mix of Charcoal Grilled Meat, seafood, and Stone Baked Pide. We do recommend their Döner Kebab (thinly sliced grilled lamb or chicken served with homemade bread, tomatoes, onion, a salad, bulgur), as well as the Classic Pide with Turkish sausage and mozzarella cheese, served with rocket and tomato!

The Pottery Tapas Bar

The Pottery Tapas Bar is a beautiful little restaurant offering Spanish food and a few Mediterranean options as well as amazing cocktails. They also have a nice garden which is perfect for the summer!

We highly recommend their Spanish tapas – for example, the Meatballs and tomato sauce, the Prawns with salsa Roja, the Fetta cheese, and Apple salad as well as the fish croquettes with tartare sauce and lemon – all of which are incredible!

Also, don’t miss out on their paella – the traditional House Paella is extremely tasty (chicken, seafood, fish, chorizo)!

The Souvlaki

If you are craving traditional Greek street food then you definitely need to visit this amazing place – the Souvlaki! They really prepare such delicious meals. What started off as a street food stall in 2015 has now turned into a successful restaurant that many people love!

On their menu, you will find Souvlaki (grilled meats) – skewers, sausages, chicken, beef, pork, etc., as well as a few traditional salads, starters, and wraps.

We highly recommend starting off with a Greek salad (tomato, cucumber, feta cheese, onion, olives, oregano, olive oil) and the Stuffed Vine Leaves (with rice).

Then move on to the Meat Variety Box (mixed chicken, beef, pork skewers, sausage, chicken, and pork gyros served with 2 pita bread, a salad, homemade sauces, halloumi, and fried)!

Al Forno Restaurant

Al Forno is definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in Kingston Upon Thames which is why we highly recommend you visit whenever you are craving Mediterranean food. The owners – a lovely Italian family, have always wanted to bring authentic Italian taste to London, and they are doing such an amazing job!

Everything on their menu is prepared once you order it and they use only fresh ingredients which is why in some cases you might need to wait a bit longer for your food – but we do not mind that because that way we are certain the food is fresh! But while you wait, you can have their tasty starters.

When it comes to their main dishes, they have pasta, risotto, pizza, fish main dishes, and meat main dishes. We honestly love everything on the menu!

Terra Mia

Terra Mia is an amazing family-run restaurant offering Italian cuisine. Our team really enjoys going to this place not only because the food is incredible but also because the staff is super friendly and the interior is beautiful.

We highly recommend starting off with their Prosciutto è Melone (parma ham and melon) if you enjoy that refreshing sweet and savory taste or their Calamari fritti (fried squid) and the Prosciutto è Mozzarella (parma ham and mozzarella).

Next on their menu are the salads and the main dishes – pizza and pasta. They do not have any other traditional Italian main dishes so keep that in mind.

We love their pizzas since they are super well-made and delicious, however, you should also try their pasta. For example, the Tonno è pomodoro (pasta, tuna, tomato, and herbs) or the Marinara (pasta, squid, clams, mussels, tomato, herbs).
