Having a beer while watching the game on TV is an old classic. But what happens when a fan gets over-exited and accidently spills his drink? – a nasty stain that you could smell from the next room. Disgusting, right? At least if you don’t remove it fast.
When the stain is on your clothes:
If you have the opportunity and it’s appropriate, take off the stained piece of clothing right away and wash it with warm water and soap or detergent, according to the washing instructions from your garment label. If you can’t do that and the stain gets old before you could wash it, it is necessary to leave it soaking with some washing soda for a while, then you can wash it with the rest of the laundry.
When the stain is on your carpet:
Thoughtfully wash the stain, using carpet shampoo. Again, the quicker – the better. For a really persistent stains use a stronger, suitable product.
When the stain is on your upholstery:
Use a sponge, moistened with warm water. To remove an older stain, you could prepare a solution of vinegar and water in proportion 1:5 and apply it carefully so you don’t soak the fabric. Rinse and dry with a kitchen paper or a cloth.
In every case, always read the manufacturer instructions if there are any, before you do anything. Then proceed with a small test patch. If any doubt, consult a professional cleaner.
