This year, on the 18th of February, is Family Day which makes the upcoming weekend a three-day weekend for some areas.
For everyone that has these three days off but still has no plans, there are several activities we can offer you.
Artillery Park Aquatic Centre
Open between 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. there is plenty to do there. There is a pool, swimming sports, gym, badminton, and family fitness routines.
INVISTA Centre Family
Open between 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. they offer skating activities which start at 8:30 a.m. and public skating from 1 p.m. to 2:45 pm.
Feb Fest
Family Day weekend is the third weekends of Feb Fest. Families can enjoy a Beavertail, ride on a horse-drawn wagon and more.
See a Fronts Game
The Kingston Frontenacs will play the Kitchener Rangers al Leon’s Centre at 2 p.m.
Skating outside
Springer Market Square’s skating rink will be open on Family Day and the rentals will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Open House at the Tett Centre
Open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors can participate in interactive art experiences and musical performances.
Family Day at the YMCA
A full day planned by The Kingston YMCA for your whole family – Zumba, aquafit and jump rope. Open from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (The Wright Crescent location) and the west-den location – from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The Frink
Open from 11 a.m. too 2 p.m. Activities include a family orienteering course, snowshoeing, a scavenger hunt, nature mysteries, survival shelter building and many more.
Gananoque’s Family Day Winter River Festival
Hosting its third Winder River Festival there will be horse-drawn carriage rides, ice fishing music, and maple taffy. Also, free chili, hot dogs, hot chocolate and more. Open between 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
