Most of our Burnley work sits in the BB10/BB11 streets between Centenary Way and Manchester Road, with a steady run of jobs out west to Padiham along the BB12 corridor. Part-time domestic, £11 to £13 an hour depending on the job, paid weekly into your bank.
We are hiring a part-time domestic cleaner in Burnley at £11 to £13 per hour, paid weekly, on regular weekday rounds across BB10, BB11 and BB12. That is the headline. The rest is the small print.
What the work actually looks like
The bulk of our Burnley book is private homes, mostly weekly or fortnightly maintenance cleans. A lot of the housing stock is the old stuff: late Victorian two-up-two-downs in Burnley Wood and Daneshouse, the kind of stone-built terraces that were thrown up for mill workers when Queen Street Mill and the rest of the cotton sheds were still running. They clean fast once you know them. Brunshaw has the 1930s semis, a bit more square footage but easier underfoot. Then we have a handful of clients on the modern Worsthorne estates, and a couple of post-war places up around Burnley Lane.
Pay is £11 to £13 an hour. The £13 rate is for jobs that involve oven work, ironing on top of cleaning, or a stretch of stairs that takes a proper shoulder. Standard maintenance cleans on the smaller terraces are £11 to £12. We pay weekly because monthly is rough when you are starting out. Bank transfer every Friday.
Getting around Burnley
If you drive, parking on the older terraces is the usual east-Lancashire problem. Some streets in Burnley Wood are permit-only, some are free but tight, and on Burnley FC home days at Turf Moor the streets either side of Harry Potts Way go to bits a couple of hours before kick-off. We will tell you in advance if a job lands on a match day. Turf Moor is the second-longest continuously used ground in English professional football, the club has been there since 1883, and on a Saturday three o’clock you can hear the whole town tilt towards it.
If you do not drive, you do not need to. The 1, 2 and X43 cover the spine of the town and the Padiham route well. Most of our BB12 clients are walkable from a bus stop.
Who we want
You have cleaned before. Either professionally or seriously at home for someone else. We are not running induction days for first-time cleaners on this round.
You turn up. We have picked up clients off Petty Real and Keenans this last year because their previous cleaners stopped showing. We will not be the agency the next set of clients leaves.
You can text. The night before, if a job has to move. That is the whole communication standard.
What you get back from us
A real round of regular clients in your part of Burnley, planned around where you live so you are not driving from Padiham to Brunshaw to Worsthorne in one day. Materials provided where the client does not supply them. Holiday cover so you are not penalised for taking a week. A named person to ring if a client is being awkward, which happens, and we deal with it.
Hours and the practical bits
Part-time. Most of our cleaners run between 16 and 25 hours a week, weekdays mostly, occasional Saturday morning if you want one. We can build the rota around school runs. Quite a few of our Burnley team are mums working term-time hours; that is fine, we work with it.
You will need a basic level of English, the right to work in the UK, and you will need to be okay with dogs in some homes and cats in most. If you are allergic, tell us up front.
Burnley competitors and what we are not
Maid2Clean run a Burnley book at £18.50 an hour to the client, which is fine, that is their model. Burnley Cleaning Maids work mostly the town centre. We are smaller than both. We do not promise the world. We promise the job that is on your sheet that morning, and we promise the wage on Friday.

We reply within 48 hours, usually faster. If we want to meet, it is a short chat at a cafe near the bus station, twenty minutes, bring some ID and a recent utility bill so we can do right-to-work properly. If that goes well, you start the following week with a paired shift, then on your own from week two.
