Have you cleaned in Mayfair or Marylebone before? If you have, you’ll already know the bit nobody warns you about: where you’re allowed to leave the rubbish bags, and for how long. The work itself is fine. The bin window is the awkward part.
We’re hiring domestic cleaners across the City of Westminster at £15 an hour, paid weekly, on regular fortnightly rounds covering W1, W2, W9, SW1, NW1 and NW8.
That is the short answer.
Where the rounds actually sit
The patch runs from Marylebone High Street and Chiltern Street in the north, down through Mayfair around Mount Street and Berkeley Square, into Belgravia squares and Pimlico, with a separate cluster up around Maida Vale and Little Venice where the Grand Union Canal meets the Regent’s Canal. We pick up some St John’s Wood work too, and a few Soho and Covent Garden flats above shops in WC1 and WC2. The mix is mostly maintenance cleans in private flats, a steady trickle of end-of-tenancy slots booked through letting agents on Blandford Street and Mount Street, and a handful of small offices in Mayfair side streets. Almost no commercial contract work in this borough on this rota.
Pay, plainly
£15 an hour. That is 20p above the London Living Wage of £14.80 for 2025–26, paid because Westminster jobs eat your time on travel and parking faff in a way that Hackney rounds do not. Bank transfer every Friday for the previous week’s hours. Self-employed or PAYE, your choice.
Westminster things you’ll learn quickly
The bin rule first. Westminster Council collects rubbish on a timed-bag schedule rather than a wheelie-bin day, and bags cannot be placed on the footpath more than 30 minutes before the allocated pick-up time. We tell you the window for each address. If you forget and stack bags out at 9am for a 2pm collection, the resident gets fined, and that is awkward for everyone.
Parking is the other thing. Most of the borough sits inside the Congestion Charge zone, which went up to £18 a day on 2 January 2026 and now charges on bank holidays too. Mayfair sits in CPZ Zone E and Marylebone in Zone F, both controlled most of the working day. We don’t ask you to pay the Congestion Charge or ULEZ; we route the rota so the driving jobs go to people who already drive in for other reasons, or we book the work for staff who travel by tube or bus.
If you don’t drive, this borough is the easiest in London to cover. Bond Street has an Elizabeth-line entrance on Hanover Square and the step-free route from Marylebone Lane; Paddington gives you the Bakerloo, Circle, District, Hammersmith & City and Elizabeth lines on one platform crawl; Marylebone, Baker Street, Oxford Circus and Victoria fill in the rest. Almost every job on the rota is inside ten minutes of a station.
What we want from you
You’ll have cleaned before. Properly, not training-from-zero on this round.
You’ll turn up. The cleaning agencies in Mayfair lean heavily on no-show fines in their contracts and we don’t, because turning up is the actual job and we’d rather hire people who do it.
You’ll text the night before if a job needs to move. That is the one rule.
Right-to-work paperwork sorted before your first shift. Passport or share code, plus a recent utility bill, is enough.
