If you’ve cleaned anywhere along Camden High Street, you already know the parking is the awkward part. The work itself is fine. Most of our Camden rounds sit between Camden Lock and Kentish Town Road, with a thinner band running west toward Primrose Hill and Chalk Farm.
We’re hiring domestic cleaners in Camden at £14.80 an hour, paid weekly by bank transfer, on regular fortnightly rounds across NW1 and NW5.
That is the answer to the obvious question. Everything below is the small print.
What the work actually looks like
The mix is mostly maintenance cleans in private flats, two or three small offices off Camden Road, and a steady trickle of end-of-tenancy slots booked through letting agents on the high street, including Foxtons Camden and Dexters Kentish Town. Camden has a lot of converted Victorian terraces split into flats, plus newer blocks near Hawley Wharf, plus older estates around Kentish Town. Each has its own quirks. The Victorian flats have proper coving and original tiles you do not want to attack with the wrong cloth. The new-builds are quick wins.
Pay and how we pay it
£14.80 an hour. That is the London Living Wage rate for 2025–26, set by the Living Wage Foundation. We pay weekly. Friday bank transfer. We do not pay monthly because monthly is a horrible way to start a new job when you are waiting on a first wage and your rent is due. Self-employed or PAYE, your call.
Camden things you’ll learn quickly
Camden is a parking borough, and the controlled parking zones across NW1 vary by sub-zone. In CA-P, CA-S, CA-U and CA-V the visitor allocation is two hours a slot. In other CPZs the rules are looser. When a job needs a permit code we send one through the morning of. If a job is a walk from the bus stop, we will tell you straight rather than have you circling.
If you do not drive, that is genuinely fine here. The 24, 27, 29, 31, 88, 134 and 214 buses cover most of our rota, and Camden Town, Mornington Crescent, Chalk Farm and Camden Road Overground put you within ten minutes of nearly every job. One quirk worth knowing: Camden Town tube goes exit-only on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, between roughly 1pm and 5.30pm. If you ever do a Sunday end-of-tenancy near the lock, plan to leave from Mornington Crescent or jump on a 24 bus.
If you do drive, an electric or low-emission car is the sensible choice. Camden sits inside the inner ULEZ and the £12.50 daily charge applies every day except Christmas.
What we want from you
You will have cleaned before. Professionally, or seriously domestically over a long stretch. We are not training from zero on this round.
You will turn up. A small agency in north Camden lost half its summer bookings last year to no-shows and we picked up the pieces. We will not be that agency.
You will text the night before if a job needs to move. That is the one rule.
What we don’t ask for
No CV. No covering letter. No long online form. We have read enough CVs.
This role staffs our domestic cleaning in Camden, end of tenancy cleaning, carpet cleaning and oven cleaning rounds, so there is steady local work all year.
