Most of our Newham rota runs east of the Olympic Park, between Stratford station and the Royal Docks. The Elizabeth line drops people at Stratford, Maryland and Custom House by 7am most weekdays, and that is when half the rota actually starts. The other half drives in from Beckton and the A13.
We’re hiring domestic and end-of-tenancy cleaners across Newham at £14.80 an hour, paid weekly, on regular rounds through E6, E7, E13, E15 and E16.
Where the rota actually sits
About a third of the Newham work is around E15 and E20: maintenance cleans in the new-build flats off Stratford High Street and around Westfield Stratford. The Jubilee, Elizabeth, Central and DLR lines all pass through Stratford station, so the patch is easy to reach without a car. The 25, 86, 158 and 262 buses out of Stratford bus station cover most of the rest.
Another third runs along Barking Road through Plaistow (E13) and East Ham (E6 and E12), mostly Victorian terrace conversions. Two or three end-of-tenancy slots a month come in via Foxtons in Stratford on Broadway and Hunters in Plaistow at 766 Barking Road.
The last third is the Royal Docks side: Canning Town, North Woolwich and the flats around ExCeL London. The DLR covers most of it. There is a regular pulse of after-builders work as new blocks hand over near Royal Wharf, and we pair you with an existing cleaner the first time.
Pay, the plain numbers
£14.80 an hour. That is the London Living Wage rate for 2025–26. Bank transfer every Friday.

For an honest comparison: Pro Cleaners London advertise £19 an hour for regular Newham work, but that is the customer-facing rate, not the cleaner’s wage. Wecasa’s customer rate in Newham starts around £16.90, and Cleaning at Home’s commercial rate begins at £14.50. We pay our cleaners £14.80 because the rota is built around keeping people for years, not weeks.

Newham quirks worth knowing before day one
The borough-wide Selective Licensing scheme runs from 1 June 2023 to 31 May 2028 and covers almost every privately rented property in Newham, with only the Royal Victoria and Stratford Olympic Park wards excluded. The practical effect on us is that letting agents now insist on a higher end-of-tenancy standard before they sign off a deposit return, because the council inspects more than it used to. End-of-tenancy slots take a little longer here than the equivalent job in Bexley or Bromley. We pay you for the actual hours, not the quoted ones.
Parking is per zone, not borough-wide. East Ham and Forest Gate North run on long enforcement windows, and the Stratford zones tighten further around event days at the London Stadium and ExCeL. We tell you the morning before whether a job is a walk-from-the-station one or a drive-and-permit one. The whole borough has been inside ULEZ since the August 2023 expansion.
Refuse days vary by ward, which matters because a Sunday end-of-tenancy clean with bins still out front is a different job from a Tuesday morning clean.
What we want, and how to apply
You will have cleaned before, properly. Domestic or end-of-tenancy experience, either is fine, but we are not training from a standing start this round. You will text the night before if a job needs to move. That is the rule we actually care about, because the Stratford and Canning Town rounds rely on people knowing twelve hours ahead and not twelve minutes.
What we don’t ask for: a CV, a covering letter, or a long form.
