If you’ve cleaned anywhere along Yorkshire Street or up around Falinge Park, you’ll already know what most of these jobs look like. We’re hiring part-time domestic cleaners in Rochdale at £13.50 an hour, paid weekly, on fortnightly rounds across OL11, OL12, OL16 and the M24 patch around Middleton. That sentence is the answer to the obvious question. The rest is the small print.
Most rounds are inside the borough boundary: Rochdale town and Spotland, Norden and Bamford on the OL11 side, Wardle and Healey on the OL12 side, Milnrow toward OL16, with Heywood (OL10) and Middleton (M24) picked up by whichever cleaner lives closest. A handful of rounds run out to Littleborough (OL15), usually the cottages near Hollingworth Lake.
The housing is mixed. Stone-built terraces on the slope above Spotland. Victorian villas around Falinge Park, some converted to flats, some still single-family. Thirties semis through Norden and Bamford. Post-war stock on the Kirkholt estate. Newer builds out at Castleton, and a fair few ex-mill conversions toward the river. Each shape needs a different rota and a different bag of kit. We tell you which.
Pay, plainly
£13.50 an hour. Bank transfer, every Friday.
That’s well above the National Living Wage (£11.44 for 21+ in 2025) and at the upper end of what local listings show right now. Care.com housekeeper averages around Rochdale sit between £12 and £15. Diamond Home Support has been advertising £14–£15 nearby. Well Polished bills clients at £19.45 an hour and pays cleaners less than that. £13.50 is honest middle of the market and it’s the same number across every postcode on this page. We don’t run two rates for two clients down the same street.
Who books us
Most of the work comes through letting agents and through repeat private clients. Cowell Norford and Andrew Kelly & Associates are two of the bigger names locally; both have stock in Heywood and Middleton, both turn over end-of-tenancy work that lands with us once or twice a month. Ryder & Dutton’s Heywood branch handles a chunk of the OL10 lettings. We’ve worked with all three at some point. We’re not a cleaning agency in their pocket; they ring us when their preferred cleaner can’t take a slot.
Getting around
- ✓The Metrolink runs from Rochdale Town Centre all the way to East Didsbury via Manchester city centre and Oldham. If you live in town and your client is in Castleton or Middleton, the tram is faster than driving in rush hour. Trams roughly every twelve minutes during the day.
- ✓For Hollingworth Lake jobs around OL15, you’ll usually want a car. The council charges for the lake car parks (£1 first hour, up to £5 over four) but you’re parking on the street most of the time, not at the visitor centre.
- ✓Healey Dell sits on the OL12 / Whitworth border and the lanes out that way are narrow. Plan extra time on Healey Dell rounds, especially after rain.
- ✓The town itself is walkable from the bus station and the tram terminus. Rochdale Town Hall (the Victorian Gothic one off the Esplanade) runs short public tours every Wednesday afternoon and full tours on Mondays, which is mostly only useful for knowing when to avoid that car park.
What we ask for
- ◆You’ve cleaned before. Domestic, hotel, contract, or end-of-tenancy. We’re not training from zero this round.
- ◆You text us the night before if a job needs to move. We can shuffle if we know in time.
- ◆You turn up. Maid2Clean and Hello Cleaners both run in Rochdale and both are decent operations. The bit that goes wrong with bigger franchises is the no-show pattern. We won’t be that firm.
What we don’t ask for: a CV, a covering letter, or a long form. Bring ID and a recent utility bill to the meeting and we’ll handle right-to-work properly then.
