Most of our Manchester rounds sit inside the M1 and M4 postcodes, between the Northern Quarter and the warehouse conversions out toward Ancoats. We’re hiring part-time cleaners around Manchester city centre at £13 an hour, paid weekly, on regular rounds. That sentence is the answer to the obvious question. The rest of this is the small print.
The work is mostly maintenance cleans in private flats. A lot of the bookings come through letting agents around the city centre. Bridgfords on Albion Street, in the old Hacienda building, is a name you’ll see on a fair few of our keys; they cover M1, M3, M4 and M15, which is more or less our patch too. We pick up the odd end-of-tenancy when an Ancoats flat turns over.
Pay is £13 an hour. Weekly.
Bank transfer every Friday. That’s above National Living Wage (£11.44 for 21+ in 2025) and at the upper end of what Reed and Indeed list for Manchester cleaners right now, which sits around £12.21 to £13.57 an hour for most local listings. We don’t dress it up as competitive rates because the phrase has stopped meaning anything. £13/hr, that’s the number.
The patch
- ✓Most rounds are walkable from a Metrolink stop or from Piccadilly. The Altrincham line and the East Didsbury line both drop you straight into town, and frequencies have settled on every fifteen minutes since March 2025 while the operator finishes its driver recruitment push. That’s fine for a cleaner. You plan two clients a morning and you’re not waiting on platforms.
- ✓A handful of rounds need a car. Castlefield and the new builds around First Street are easier on foot from Deansgate-Castlefield. Older terraces in Ardwick are easier with a car.
- ✓Greater Manchester binned the charging Clean Air Zone in January 2025 and switched to an investment-led plan, so you do not need a compliant vehicle to drive into town for work. If you do drive an older diesel, you’re fine. If you don’t drive, the Metrolink and the 142 and 192 buses down Oxford Road cover almost everything we book.
What we ask for
- ◆You’ve cleaned before. Domestic, hotel, contract, end-of-tenancy. Any of those is fine. We’re not training from scratch this run.
- ◆You message the night before if a job needs to move. We can move things if we know in time.
- ◆You take pride in turning up. Bright & Beautiful and the Time For You franchise are both running in Manchester and both decent operations; the difference between them and us, mostly, is we pay weekly and we don’t take a cut twice.
What we don’t ask for: a CV or a covering letter. We’ll ask for ID and right-to-work paperwork at the meeting, not before.
