Sevenoaks is a commuter town first and a Kent country town second. Most of our TN13 rounds run within a mile of the station, and the rest scatter out into TN14 and TN15 toward Otford, Riverhead and the M25 junction 5 fringe. The shape of the work follows that pattern.
We’re hiring a part-time domestic cleaner in Sevenoaks at £14–£16 per hour, paid weekly, on regular fortnightly rounds across TN13, TN14 and TN15.

Where the work sits
The Sevenoaks job mix breaks into four loose patches, and you’ll likely cover three of them on a typical week. Up the High Street and the streets behind it, the houses are mostly Georgian and Victorian period stock above the shops, plus the Edwardian villas that ring the town centre on roads like St John’s and Bayham. Off the London Road by the station, the modern apartment blocks built over the last fifteen years take a different kind of clean: smaller, faster, and the lift’s usually working. The third patch is Kippington, the prestigious private estate west of the High Street where the houses are large detached on a 20mph private road with road wardens, and the cleans tend to be longer and more careful. The fourth is the country-edge work in Otford, Seal and the lanes off the A25 where you’ll find the older estates and farm conversions.
Knole, the National Trust house and deer park, is the practical landmark for half of our south-of-town clients. The park itself opens at 9am daily and the house showrooms run Tuesday to Sunday from noon, which matters because the deer cross the lanes on the park’s eastern edge in the early mornings and we tell new starters to slow down.
The work mix is mostly maintenance cleans for working households, fortnightly rota. A handful of end-of-tenancy slots booked through Langford Russell on the High Street and Jackson-Stops a few doors down. A small number of holiday-let turnarounds in the villages outside the town.
Pay, in plain numbers
£14 to £16 an hour. Maintenance rounds in flats and standard houses sit at the lower end. Larger Kippington-style detached homes and end-of-tenancy slots go to the top of the range. Weekly. Bank transfer, every Friday, for the previous Sunday-to-Saturday week. Mileage is 45p a mile between jobs in a day, which counts on the rural side of the patch where two clients can be six miles apart.
Genuinely affluent town. We’ve set the rate to match.
The travel question
If you don’t drive, Sevenoaks station is the spine. Around 129 direct trains a day to London Charing Cross, the fastest at about 33 minutes; trains to London Bridge run roughly every ten minutes through the day with a 21-minute fast train. That matters for the cleaners we have who live up the line and come in. Bus routes thread through Riverhead, Dunton Green and Otford from the bus station behind the High Street. If you do drive, junction 5 of the M25 sits at Riverhead and the A21 feeds straight into it.
School term traffic is real here. Sevenoaks School lets out around 4pm on weekdays in term, and the High Street and the A225 toward Tonbridge clog up for about an hour after. We try not to schedule end-of-day jobs through that window. In school holidays the town is genuinely faster to get around.
Who we want
You’ll have cleaned before, properly. Either professionally for an agency or seriously domestically. We’re not training from zero this round.
- ✓You drive, or you live somewhere that gets you to Sevenoaks station without three changes. The Otford and Seal jobs need a car.
- ✓You’re around for at least three weekday mornings. Saturday mornings sometimes available if you want them, no pressure.
- ✓You text the night before if a job needs to move. The rota goes out Sunday evening for the week.
What we don’t ask for: a CV on headed paper, a covering letter, references typed up. Plain text is fine.
Local stuff worth knowing
Parking on the High Street and the streets immediately off it is a mix of paid bays and resident permit zones; the council has been firmer on enforcement near the station since the new permit scheme went in. Clients pay any visitor permit costs and we’ll tell you straight when a job is a walk-from-the-station one. Riverhead has the Tesco superstore and petrol station right by the M25 slip road, which is where most of us fill up between rounds.
The competition matters too. Well Polished Sevenoaks and Maid2Clean both run domestic rounds across the town at rates broadly similar to ours; Fantastic Services and Alesta cover the same ground from the larger-agency end. We sit independent, and we keep the same cleaner on the same job for as long as it’s working. Low turnover is the point.
