Most of our Surbiton rota runs along the Portsmouth Road spine, between the station and Long Ditton, with a smaller cluster up around Berrylands and a few jobs out toward Tolworth Tower. Fast trains to Waterloo are the reason a lot of our clients live here, and the reason we always have work in KT6.
We’re hiring domestic cleaners in Surbiton at £14.50 an hour, paid weekly by bank transfer, on regular fortnightly rounds across KT5 and KT6.
That is the answer to the obvious question. The rest is small print.
The work, plainly
The mix is mostly maintenance cleans in private flats and the larger Edwardian houses behind Maple Road. There is a steady trickle of end-of-tenancy slots booked through letting agents on Surbiton high street, including Greenfield Estate Agents, who have been letting in Surbiton and Tolworth since 1983. A handful of small offices sit near the station on Victoria Road. The rounds are walkable from the train if you don’t drive.
Pay
£14.50 an hour. Weekly bank transfer, every Friday. We pay weekly because monthly is brutal when you’ve just started and rent is due. Self-employed or PAYE, your call. To put it in context, Maid2Clean Kingston pays £14.25 cash on the day, and a couple of the agency Indeed listings around KT6 sit between £12 and £13, so this is decent outer-zone money for the work.
Surbiton-specific things you’ll learn quickly
Zone S is the Surbiton CPZ. Adelaide Road, Brighton Road, Portsmouth Road, St James’s Road and twenty-odd other streets sit inside it, controlled in the day, and visitor permits are scarce around the station ([Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames](https://www.kingston.gov.uk/parking-zones/zone-s-surbiton)). Where a client pays for parking we send the permit code the morning of the job. If a round is a walk from the bus stop or station we’ll tell you straight.
If you don’t drive, that’s genuinely fine. The 71 to Kingston, the 281 toward Hounslow via Twickenham, the 465 down to Chessington and Leatherhead, and the K1 and K2 routes all stop at Surbiton Station. Berrylands is one stop up the line if a job is closer to that end. From the platform you are about 18 minutes off Waterloo on the fast service, which is a separate fact but useful if a meeting drags.
If you do drive, the whole borough has been inside the ULEZ since 29 August 2023, so the £12.50 daily charge applies for non-compliant cars on every workday. An older diesel will eat your wages in a fortnight.
What we want from you
- ✓You’ll have cleaned before, properly. Professional, or serious domestic over a long stretch. We are not training from zero on this round.
- ✓You’ll turn up. We picked up rounds last year from a Surbiton operator who kept missing slots, and we are not going to be the next one with that reputation.
- ✓You’ll text the night before if a job needs to move. That’s the one hard rule.
What we don’t ask for
No CV. No covering letter. No form.
This role staffs our end of tenancy cleaning in Surbiton rounds, so there is steady local work all year.
How to apply
Message the number on this page with your name, the postcode you live in, and one sentence on where you’ve cleaned before. We reply within 48 hours. If we want to meet, we meet on a weekday morning near Surbiton Station, and you’ll need to bring some ID and a recent utility bill so we can do right-to-work properly.
If Surbiton is awkward for your commute, have a look at our open rounds in Kingston town centre and around Norbiton instead.
