Two things shape the cleaning rota in Trafford more than anything else: a Manchester United home fixture and the Bank Holiday weekends when the Trafford Centre runs late. Plan around those and the borough is one of the easier patches in Greater Manchester to work. Get caught in the M60 J9 to J7 backlog at 5pm on a match day and you will lose a slot.
We are hiring part-time domestic cleaners across Trafford at £13 an hour, paid weekly, on fortnightly rounds covering WA14, WA15 and M16 through M41.
That is the headline pay. The detail below is what the job actually looks like across this borough.
Where the work is, town by town
Most of the rota sits in three clusters. The Hale, Hale Barns and Bowdon end (WA14 and WA15) is the biggest by hours, because the houses are bigger. These are the large detached and semi-detached properties off the A538 and around Bowdon Vale, with average asking prices around £900,000 in Bowdon and £816,000 in Hale, and a high concentration of period properties (Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian). Cleans here are usually three to four hours, sometimes weekly rather than fortnightly. The middle band is Altrincham and Sale (WA14 and M33), which is mixed: long Victorian terraces along Stamford New Road and Ashton Lane, the Brooklands and Sale Moor streets either side of the Metrolink, plus a steady trickle of end-of-tenancy work through the letting agents. The third cluster is Urmston, Davyhulme, Stretford and the M17 ring around the Trafford Centre, which means 1930s semis in Urmston, post-war estates around Stretford, and modern flats in the Wharfside and Imperial Point blocks behind the mall.
End-of-tenancy slots come in mostly through Watersons, who run offices in Hale and Sale and cover Hale Barns, Bowdon, Timperley, Brooklands and Ashton on Mersey, and through Bridgfords on the Altrincham side. We are not on a panel; we just turn up and do the job inside the window the agent gives the tenant.
Pay, plain numbers
Thirteen pounds an hour. Bank transfer every Friday for the previous week’s hours. We pay weekly because monthly is annoying when you have just started.
Friday. Same time every week.

Match days, Test weeks, late-night Trafford Centre
Old Trafford football ground sits in the M16 corner of the borough. On a home fixture the M60 around junctions 7 to 9, the A56 Chester Road and Sir Matt Busby Way back up from about two hours before kick-off, and post-match closures around the W1, W2 and W3 car parks make Trafford Park nearly useless to drive across for an hour after the final whistle. We will not put a Stretford or Trafford Park job on a match day if you drive. The Metrolink is unaffected, so the Hale, Sale and Altrincham rounds carry on as normal even on a 3pm Saturday.
Old Trafford Cricket Ground (the Emirates one, on Talbot Road) has international weeks pencilled in for 2026, including England v India IT20 on 4 July and England v Sri Lanka IT20 on 19 September. Same parking story for the Talbot Road and Brooks Drive end on those days.
The Trafford Centre opens 10am to 10pm on weekdays. The car park exits onto Barton Dock Road jam from about 8pm on Fridays and through the Bank Holiday weekends, which is when the M17 maintenance cleans get an early-morning start instead of an evening one.
The transport bit
The Altrincham line of the Metrolink runs from Manchester through Trafford Bar, Old Trafford, Stretford, Dane Road, Sale, Brooklands, Timperley and on to Altrincham. If you live anywhere along that line you can cover most of the borough without a car. Buses fill in the rest: the 263 along the A56 between Manchester and Altrincham, the 280 from Altrincham past Dunham Massey towards Warrington (useful for the WA14 fringe), and the 245 across to Stretford and the Trafford Centre. If you do drive, the M60 and the A56 are the two arteries; everything else is residential.

- ✓You turn up. The Hale Barns clients in particular are paying for reliability above all else; one missed slot loses the round.
- ✓A text the night before if a job needs to move.
- ✓Right-to-work paperwork done before the first shift. ID and a recent utility bill is enough.
