If you’ve ever cleaned a house on Hawthorn Lane, you already know what most of our Wilmslow rota looks like. Big detached, long driveways, more square footage than the average flat in town has rooms. We’re hiring a part-time domestic cleaner in Wilmslow at £14 to £16 an hour, paid weekly on Fridays, with regular rounds across SK9.

Where the work actually is
SK9 covers a wider arc than the Wilmslow town signs suggest. The rota stretches from the centre out to Lindow on the western edge, north towards Handforth, south to Fulshaw and the lanes feeding into Alderley Edge village. Hawthorn Lane and the streets running off it (Carrwood, Broad Walk, Pownall Road) are the heart of the round. Macclesfield Road south of the centre is the other premium band. Hoopers on Alderley Road is roughly the centre point geographically; if you can find Hoopers you can find about three-quarters of our visits inside fifteen minutes’ drive.
The housing tells you most of what you need to know about the work. Hawthorn Lane and Macclesfield Road are very large detacheds, often gated, often with separate guest accommodation above the garage. Bollin Hill and the older centre have Edwardian villas, sash windows, deep sash sills, original tile in the entrance halls. The streets behind the station carry modern apartments converted from older stock, smaller, faster visits. Lindow has 1930s semis on Racecourse Road and the lanes around the common. The mix of property types is the bit cleaners new to Wilmslow find surprising, so we try to keep you in one or two bands rather than bouncing you across all four in a morning.
Pay, in plain numbers
£14 to £16 an hour. Where you sit on the band depends on the round. Smaller flats near the station and the shorter Edwardian terrace visits sit at the lower end because the visit is short and you can fit two in a morning. The big Hawthorn Lane and Macclesfield Road properties sit at the top because the floor area is genuinely larger and the visit runs longer. Bank transfer every Friday.

Getting around
Wilmslow station sits on Station Road, SK9 1BU, on the Crewe to Manchester corridor. Fastest train to Manchester Piccadilly is around seventeen minutes; the typical service is closer to thirty. There are roughly a hundred trains a day each way and the first weekday departure is around 05:46 from Wilmslow, arriving Piccadilly at 06:28. That matters because some clients want a 7am or 7:30am start to be out of the house before they leave for work; if you’re coming from Stockport or Macclesfield those early trains land you in Wilmslow with time to walk to the round.
If you do drive, two things to plan around. First, Manchester Airport is about six miles north of Wilmslow town. The two parallel runways (23R and 23L) sit close enough that on westerly operations the climb-out turn south puts a noticeable noise footprint over the town and over Alderley. Departing aircraft over Wilmslow are a fact of life rather than a surprise. Second, the Carrs main entrance off Cliff Road, SK9 4AA, is the obvious park-and-walk into the centre when you’ve got a town-centre flat visit. The car park there is rarely full before 9.
Where the end-of-tenancy work comes through
A meaningful share of the rota comes through letting agents on Alderley Road and Grove Street. Homes of Distinction at 22 Alderley Road run a busy lettings book across SK9 and the surrounding villages. Savills on the same stretch handle the upper end of the rental market, including a steady flow of relocations into the Golden Triangle. Meller Braggins, Jordan Fishwick, Rooftops, and Jackson-Stops all cover the area. End-of-tenancy work is tight-window, usually a single day between tenants, often a same-day turnaround when a check-out runs late. If you can pick up those days at short notice, say so when you apply.
What we want from you

- ✓You answer your phone, or text back inside an hour or two.
- ✓You’ll send a text the night before if a job needs to move. Reschedules we can absorb. No-shows we cannot.
- ✓Right-to-work paperwork on day one. Photo ID and a recent utility bill, no exceptions.
What we don’t ask for: a CV, a covering letter, references in triplicate, or any of the agency-style admin that turns a half-hour conversation into a fortnight.
