If you’ve cleaned a Victorian terrace in Birkenhead, a 1930s semi in Wallasey and a Port Sunlight cottage in the same week, you’ll feel at home on this rota. Most of our Wirral rounds sit either side of the Wirral Line: north spur up to New Brighton, west spur out to Hoylake and West Kirby, with a southern band running through Bebington and Bromborough.

We’re hiring part-time domestic cleaners across Wirral at £13 an hour, paid weekly, on regular fortnightly visits between CH41 Birkenhead and CH60 Heswall.

That’s the headline.

The rest is the small print and an honest note about the work.

Where the rounds actually are

Our Wirral postcodes run from CH41 and CH42 around Birkenhead and Tranmere, through CH43 Oxton and Prenton, CH44 and CH45 across Wallasey and New Brighton, CH46 Moreton, CH47 Hoylake and Meols, CH48 West Kirby and Caldy, CH49 Greasby and Upton, CH60 Heswall, CH62 around Bromborough and Port Sunlight, and CH63 Bebington. Mostly it’s private homes. A handful of small offices on Hamilton Square in Birkenhead and a couple of end-of-tenancy slots a month booked through the Clive Watkin office in Heswall and Bradshaw Farnham & Lea on Banks Road in West Kirby.

The housing mix is wide. Long Victorian terraces in Birkenhead and Wallasey, Edwardian villas around Oxton, classic 1930s semis along the Wirral Line stops, modern estates out near Bromborough, premium detached in Heswall and Caldy, and the listed cottages in Port Sunlight (the village has 900 Grade II listed buildings, so we’re careful with original brass and tile work).

Pay, plain

£13 an hour. Bank transfer every Friday. We pay weekly because monthly is awful when you’re new and waiting on a first wage. No phantom bonuses, no rate that drops after month three.

Tunnels, ferries, the practical stuff

If your round crosses to Liverpool side and the client pays, we cover the Queensway or Kingsway toll. That’s £2.30 cash, or £1.60 if you’ve got a T-FLOW account as a city-region resident, and we’ll get you set up on T-FLOW if you don’t. If you don’t drive, you don’t need to: the Wirral Line runs every 15 minutes from Liverpool through Hamilton Square to New Brighton, West Kirby and Chester, and most of our rota is reachable from a station or a short walk. The Woodside ferry terminal reopened in summer 2025 after refurbishment, so the Birkenhead crossing is back in the mix for jobs near Pier Head.

What we want

  • You’ve cleaned before. Properly. Either professionally or for a household that paid you for it.
  • You’ll text the night before if a job needs to shift. We always reply.
  • You turn up. Time For You and Maid2Clean both run on the Wirral and the floor for hourly rates round here is around £12; we’re paying above that on purpose.

What we don’t ask for: a CV, a covering letter, or anything that looks like a graduate application form.

Local notes

Birkenhead Park, the world’s first publicly funded municipal park, opened on 5 April 1847 and is the model Frederick Law Olmsted used for Central Park in New York. We mention it because half our Birkenhead clients live within ten minutes of the gates, and the area has its own rhythm on park-event weekends. Hoylake hosted the Open Championship in July 2023 (its 13th time, won by Brian Harman); jobs near Royal Liverpool Golf Club need a different parking plan that week. New Brighton promenade and West Kirby Marine Lake are the two places clients ask us to schedule around in summer.

How to apply

Message the number on this page with your name, your home postcode, and one sentence on where you’ve cleaned before. We come back within 48 hours. If we want to meet, we meet at the office near Conway Street in Birkenhead, on a Wednesday morning — bring ID and a recent utility bill so we can do right-to-work properly. That’s the whole process.
