The original 2023 version of this guide picked the first WandVac, and the 2.0 is the same idea done better. The point of this one is friction, or rather the lack of it. It is so light and so slim that it sits on its base by the kettle and you actually pick it up for two crumbs, which is the whole job of a handheld. Shark added a boost mode and more battery over the first model, and on standard power it pulls a respectable 48 air watts.
Do not expect it to clear a big mess. In testing the small cup and narrow tubes pack out quickly, so this is a vacuum for spills, crumbs and the odd cushion, not the car boot after a tip run. As an always-ready handheld that lives in the kitchen, it is the easiest one here to live with. If your job is mostly the car, the Dyson or the Shark UltraCyclone make more sense.

How to choose a handheld vacuum
A handheld lives or dies on convenience. If it is awkward to grab, you stop using it. Five things decide whether one suits you, in roughly this order.
Pick the job first
Be honest about what you want it for. Crumbs on the worktop and the odd spill want something tiny and always-ready, like the Shark WandVac. Pet hair on the sofa and the stairs wants a motorised brush, which is the Shark UltraCyclone or the Dyson. A whole car after a holiday wants suction and run time, which is the Dyson. Matching the machine to the job matters more than any single spec.
Run time is short, and that is fine

Weight, because you hold it up

It is brilliant for stairs, sofas, car seats, skirting and the crumbs under the toaster. It is not for cleaning a whole carpeted lounge, because the bin is too small and the battery too short. Empty it after every use
A small cup loses suction fast as it fills, far quicker than a big cylinder does. Tip it out after each job, not when it is rammed, and the machine keeps pulling properly. Rinse a washable filter now and then, and let it dry fully before it goes back in.
Boost is for a patch, not the whole job
Max or boost mode is for a stubborn lump of ground-in grit or hair, not for the whole clean. Run on standard power for everyday use and the battery lasts two or three times longer. Save the boost for the one spot that needs it.
It will not rescue a tired sofa or carpet on its own
