Ealing is the only London borough where the Elizabeth line is the workhorse rather than a backup, and that single fact shapes the whole rota. Acton Main Line, Ealing Broadway, West Ealing, Hanwell, Southall and Hayes & Harlington all sit on the same purple line, ten minutes apart, and the timetable holds up well enough that we can book back-to-back jobs across W3, W7 and UB1 without padding the gaps.
We’re hiring part-time domestic cleaners in Ealing at £14 an hour, paid weekly, on fortnightly rounds across W3, W5, W7, W13, UB1 and UB6.
That is the role in plain prose. The rest of this ad is the local detail and an honest note on what the work is actually like across the seven Ealing towns.
The seven-town problem and how we route around it
Ealing council likes to call itself “the borough of seven towns”. For us that means a cleaner working a Tuesday round in Acton W3 and a Wednesday round in Northolt UB5 has gone from Edwardian terraces to post-war estates in twenty minutes flat, with completely different access quirks at each end. We try not to do that to you. The rota is built so each cleaner stays in two adjacent postcodes most weeks. If you live in Hanwell or West Ealing you will mostly work W7 and W13. If you live in Acton you will mostly work W3 and the W5 fringe near Acton Town. If you’re Southall-based, you’ll work UB1 and UB2 with the occasional Greenford run.
The work mix, by area
Central Ealing W5 is mostly Edwardian houses split into upper and lower flats, plus the Edwardian semis in the Pitshanger triangle off Pitshanger Lane. Hanwell W7 is the same era of stock with a 1930s Cuckoo Estate band south of Boston Road. Acton W3 is Victorian terraces north of the District line, and the post-war South Acton estate south of it. Northolt UB5 and parts of Greenford UB6 are mostly inter-war and post-war semis with off-street parking, which makes the working day easier. Southall UB1 has a high share of HMOs and end-of-tenancy turnarounds, often booked through the agents on the Broadway. The work mix is mostly maintenance cleans in private flats, with about one end-of-tenancy clean a week and the occasional small office on Uxbridge Road.
Pay, weekly, no fuss
£14 an hour. Paid every Friday by bank transfer for the previous week’s hours. We pay weekly because monthly is awful when you are new to a job and the rent is due before the first wage clears. Self-employed or PAYE, your call. We do not deduct admin fees, training fees, or kit fees. The rate sits inside the £14 to £15 band the borough actually pays for our kind of work, with the higher end reserved for after-builders shifts when we run them.

Letting agents we work with
Most of our end-of-tenancy work in Ealing comes through two named agents. Sargeants on the Broadway covers the Hanwell, Northfields and Acton patch, and Stirling Ackroyd’s Ealing branch on The Mall handles a steady stream of W5 and W13 turnovers. In Southall the work comes from a rotating handful of independents on the Broadway around the Himalaya Palace end. We name the agent on the booking sheet so you know who is meeting you for keys.
Transport, parking and the Elizabeth line angle
If you do not drive, Ealing is the easiest borough in west London to clean in. The Elizabeth line runs roughly every five minutes peak and every ten off-peak between Ealing Broadway and Hayes & Harlington, with last trains around 23:00 most nights, which means a 7pm finish in Southall is genuinely a 7:25 arrival home in Acton. The Central line and District line both terminate at Ealing Broadway, and the Piccadilly line covers Acton Town and South Ealing for anyone routing in from the north. The E1, E2, E3, E7, E8, E9, E10 and 207 buses cover the gaps the rail network leaves, especially up to Northolt and across to Greenford.
If you do drive, two things are worth knowing. First, the council shelved the proposed Greenford Controlled Parking Zone in April 2025 after 70% of South Greenford residents voted against it, so off-street parking remains realistic in UB6. Second, the council is currently consulting on extending operating hours of nine existing CPZs across the borough, and the Brentside CPZ in Hanwell is being widened to roughly 40 more streets, so W7 jobs may need a permit code from us by late 2026. One Southall-specific note
If you take Southall jobs, the Broadway is at its busiest on Saturdays when the market on the high street pulls people in from across west London, and Wednesday and Friday are the other market days. We try not to book Southall end-of-tenancy slots for late Saturday afternoon because the run from the station to the flats around Lady Margaret Road is slower than the timetable suggests. Wednesday mornings are the sensible window for that side of the borough.
What we want from you
You will have cleaned before, professionally or seriously domestically.
You will turn up. Cleaning Express and a couple of the other independents on the Ealing patch had a rough patch with no-shows last summer, and the bookings rolled to us. We do not want to become the agency that lost them next.
You will text the night before if a job has to move. That is the rule we actually care about, because the W5 to W7 hop is on a tight timetable and the cleaner after you needs to know.
This role staffs our domestic cleaning in Ealing, end of tenancy cleaning, carpet cleaning and oven cleaning rounds, so there is steady local work all year.
