Most of our Richmond rounds run between Richmond Green and Kew Gardens station, with a long arm out through St Margarets to the river end of Twickenham, and a separate cluster around Teddington High Street. Trains and buses do most of the work on this rota. Cars cause more trouble than they solve.
We’re hiring domestic cleaners across Richmond upon Thames at £15 an hour, paid weekly, on regular fortnightly rounds across TW1, TW9, TW10 and TW11.

What the work looks like
The mix is mostly maintenance cleans in private flats and family houses around Sheen Road, the streets behind Kew Green, and the Edwardian terraces on the Twickenham side of Richmond Bridge. Three or four end-of-tenancy slots a month come in through the letting agents clustered on Red Lion Street, including Antony Roberts, Featherstone Leigh and Chase Buchanan, who sit within a few doors of each other up there. A smaller handful come through Snellers on Heath Road in Twickenham, who have been letting in this corner of London since 1929. We also pick up some weekly visits in the new flats near Twickenham Stadium on a match-free Saturday. We don’t do match-day cleans. Nobody does.
Pay
£15 an hour. Bank transfer every Friday for the previous week’s hours. We pay weekly because monthly is grim when you have just started and rent is due. Self-employed or PAYE, your call.
That rate sits a touch above the London Living Wage of £14.80 for 2025–26, well over what the Indeed average for Richmond cleaners shows at £14.58, and inline with what Maid2Clean’s blitz cleaners get paid on the day in this borough.

Richmond things you’ll learn quickly
Richmond is a parking borough with quirks. Zone CR, the South-West Twickenham CPZ, only runs 10am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday, so an early or late job around there is genuinely free to park; Zone H around Hampton Court runs seven days a week including bank holidays; Zone M4 on Teddington High Street is Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm. We tell you in advance which zone a job sits in and we send a permit code where the client pays. The whole borough has been inside the ULEZ since 29 August 2023, so an older diesel will eat into the rate.
If you don’t drive, you really don’t need to. The 33, 65, 110, 281 and the R68 between Kew Retail Park and Hampton Court cover the spine of the rota. Richmond station has both the District line and the Overground; Twickenham, Teddington, Strawberry Hill and Hampton are all on South Western Railway; Kew Gardens is a couple of stops from Richmond.
One more thing worth flagging: parts of Petersham and Ham Lands sit inside the Tidal Thames flood warning area between Richmond Bridge and Teddington Weir, and a handful of clients down there will reschedule us during high spring tides. We pass the warning on the morning of, and you don’t lose the slot.
What we want from you
- ✓You will have cleaned before, properly. Not training from zero on this round.
- ✓You will turn up. We picked up a chunk of Richmond rounds last summer from a Twickenham operator who kept missing slots; we are not going to repeat that mistake from the other side.
- ✓You will text the night before if a job needs to move.
- ✓Right-to-work paperwork sorted before your first shift. ID and a recent utility bill is enough.
