Most of our Bromley rota sits within ten minutes of either Bromley South or Bromley North, with a longer outer ring that runs through Beckenham, Petts Wood, Orpington and Chislehurst. If you have ever crossed High Street on a Thursday morning when the Charter Market is up, you already know the rhythm of the town centre, because most of our regular Bromley clients live behind The Glades and that pedestrianised stretch.
We are hiring part-time domestic cleaners across the London Borough of Bromley at £14 an hour, paid weekly, on fortnightly rounds covering BR1 to BR8, plus the SE19, SE20 and SE26 fringes around Crystal Palace and Penge.

Where the work actually is
Bromley is large and suburban, so the rota looks different from an inner-London round. We split it into four working clusters. The town-centre cluster runs from Market Square out toward Bickley and Bromley Common, mostly 1930s semis and a handful of newer flats above the shops on East Street. The Beckenham cluster covers BR3 — a lot of Victorian villas around Beckenham Park and Kelsey Park, with end-of-tenancy work coming through Alan de Maid on East Street and Andrew Reeves’ Beckenham branch. The Petts Wood and Orpington cluster is mostly that distinctive 1930s mock-Tudor stock built by Basil Scruby in BR5 and BR6 — leaded windows, half-timbered gables, fiddly woodwork, and clients who actually notice if you skip the skirting boards. The Chislehurst cluster is BR7, where most of the patch falls inside the Chislehurst Conservation Area, so the houses tend to be older and the cleans longer.
Penge and Crystal Palace are smaller. We pick up around six regulars between SE19, SE20 and SE26.
Pay, in plain numbers
£14 an hour. Bank transfer every Friday for the previous week. We pay weekly because monthly is awful when you are new and waiting on a first wage, and because the local competition mostly does not. Fantastic Services charge their Bromley customers from £18 an hour for the same regular domestic work, and Well Polished sit in a similar bracket. The cleaner’s cut on platform-style bookings is usually well under what we pay direct. We mention it so you can compare like with like.
Self-employed or PAYE. Either is fine.
The Bromley quirks you will pick up
Bromley is a parking borough, but the controlled zones cluster around the town centre and Beckenham. The Council brought a fresh CPZ order live on 19 November 2025, extending Resident Permit Holder Bays for Zone B and adjusting Z1 and Z5. Visitor permits start at £80 a year. We give you the booking details for any client whose CPZ falls under that, and we tell you straight when a job is a walk-from-the-station one.
If you do not drive, you can still cover most of our Bromley round. Bromley South is on the Victoria and Blackfriars main lines and a five-minute walk from The Glades; Bromley North runs the shuttle to Grove Park where you pick up trains for Charing Cross and Cannon Street. Beckenham Junction has the Tramlink terminus on the A2015 side, useful for jobs around Elmers End and West Wickham. Orpington and Petts Wood are on the Sevenoaks line and run frequent services through the morning peak.
One thing to know about Petts Wood. The mock-Tudor estate sits both sides of the railway, and the western half is closer to a job than the postcode suggests, because the level crossings near the station are timed to the Sevenoaks down trains and add a fair few minutes if you misjudge it.
The borough is inside the expanded ULEZ. If you drive, an electric or low-emission car is sensible.
What we want from you
- ✓Real cleaning experience, professionally or seriously domestically. Not training-from-zero on this round.
- ✓You text the night before if a job needs to move. Same-day cancellations cost the client and us, and we do not repeat them.
- ✓Right-to-work paperwork sorted before your first shift. ID and a recent utility bill is enough.
- ✓Conservation-area common sense in Chislehurst and the older parts of Beckenham. Some clients are particular about chemicals on lime mortar and original tiles, and we brief you per house.
What we do not ask for: a CV, a covering letter, a long form.
This role staffs our domestic cleaning in Bromley, end of tenancy cleaning, carpet cleaning and oven cleaning rounds, so there is steady local work all year.
