If you’ve cleaned in Epsom before, you’ll know the week of Derby Day is its own thing. The first Saturday in June (it’s 6 June in 2026, with Ladies Day the Friday before) brings hundreds of thousands of people onto the Downs and a short flurry of end-of-tenancy and short-let turnarounds across KT17 and KT18 that don’t happen anywhere else in Surrey. We hire round that pattern.
We’re hiring a part-time domestic cleaner in Epsom at £13–£15 per hour, paid weekly by bank transfer, for regular fortnightly visits across KT17, KT18 and KT19.

Where the work actually is
Most of our Epsom rounds sit on three loose clusters. There’s the town centre, where the Clock Tower on the High Street and the Ashley Centre car park behind it are the two reference points everyone uses for directions, and where you’ll find the Edwardian villas off Church Street, Worple Road and Ashley Road that have been carved into flats. There’s Stoneleigh in KT17, where the housing is mostly 1930s semis a short walk from Stoneleigh Broadway and the parade of independents either side of the railway. And there’s the western edge of the borough out towards Horton Country Park, Stamford Green and Epsom Common, where you get a mix of newer flats on the old Hospital Cluster site and 1930s family houses on streets like Christ Church Road. A handful of the bigger jobs are premium detached houses on or near Epsom Downs Road, looking onto the racecourse itself.
The work mix is mostly maintenance cleans for working families. Some end-of-tenancy slots booked through Kaybridge Residential and The Personal Agent, both of whom have offices on Stoneleigh Broadway and around Epsom centre. A few short-let turnarounds round Derby weekend, when racegoers rent out spare rooms and whole flats within walking distance of the Downs.
Pay, in plain numbers
£13 to £15 an hour, depending on whether the job is a regular maintenance round (lower end) or an end-of-tenancy or post-Derby short-let turnaround (top of the range, sometimes more on a Sunday).
Weekly. Bank transfer every Friday for the previous Sunday-to-Saturday week. We pay weekly because monthly is annoying when you’ve just started and you’re waiting on a first wage. Mileage paid at 45p a mile if you’re moving between two of our jobs in a day. We don’t ask you to use your own vacuum.
Who we’re looking for
You’ll have cleaned before, properly. Either professionally for an agency, or seriously domestically (your mum’s holiday let, a relative’s B&B, that sort of thing). We aren’t training from zero on this round.
- ✓You drive, or you live somewhere on the 293, 406, 418 or E5 bus that gets you near Stoneleigh, the Common, and the town centre without four changes. Most of KT19 is awkward without a car after about 7pm.
- ✓You’re available at least three weekday mornings, ideally with one slot of flexibility round Derby weekend (Friday 5 June and Saturday 6 June 2026). The two days either side of the Derby are our peak short-let week.
- ✓You text the night before if a job needs to move. We send the rota by Sunday evening for the week ahead.
What we don’t ask for: a CV, a covering letter, references on headed paper, or a long form.
Local stuff worth knowing
Parking in Epsom town centre is mostly the Ashley Centre multi-storey or the Hook Road car park; clients usually pay if a job needs a town-centre space, otherwise it’s a five-minute walk from a side street. CPZs run on a couple of streets immediately around the railway station and round Worple Road. On race days the council shuts off Tattenham Way and parts of Epsom Downs Road from early morning, so anything we book on the Downs Road that week starts early or runs late, never mid-afternoon.
The Stoneleigh Broadway end of the borough is its own micro-pattern. Sainsbury’s Local and the Co-Op on the Broadway are the two unofficial meet-up points for anyone working that side; if a job there finishes early there’s usually a coffee and a bench going. Worth knowing.
The competition matters too. GesClean and Housekeep both run regular cleaning in Epsom at slightly different price points. We sit between them, and we keep the same cleaner on the same job for as long as both sides are happy. Our turnover is low for a reason.
