If you’ve cleaned in the Heatons before, you already know the houses. Tall Victorian terraces on Heaton Moor Road, smaller two-up two-downs around Heaton Chapel station, the sort of bay windows that need a proper hoover attachment to do honestly. We’re hiring part-time domestic cleaners around Stockport at £13.50 an hour, paid weekly, on regular fortnightly rounds across SK1 to SK8. That’s the answer to the obvious question.

The rest is the small print.

Most of our Stockport patch sits in three rough bands. The Heatons (Heaton Moor, Heaton Chapel, Heaton Mersey, Reddish) for Victorian terraces and Edwardian semis. Cheadle, Cheadle Hulme and Bramhall for 1930s semi-detached, plus a fair number of Edwardian villas around the village core. Marple and Hazel Grove for everything from mock-Tudor to canalside cottages near the Peak Forest Canal locks. We also do flats around Mersey Square and the newer Merseyway redevelopment, and the odd end-of-tenancy in town near Stockport station, under the viaduct.

Pay

£13.50 an hour. Bank transfer every Friday.

That sits above the National Living Wage (£12.21 for 21+ from April 2025) and just above the Real Living Wage rate of £13.45 announced by the Living Wage Foundation in October 2025 for 2025–26. We pay weekly because monthly is annoying when you’re new and waiting on a first wage. We don’t run a self-employed deduction model where the cleaner pays for booking software out of their own rate; £13.50 is the number that lands in your account.

The work

Mostly maintenance cleans in private homes. Two to three hours a visit, fortnightly cadence, a regular client list you build up as we route you. End-of-tenancy slots come through letting agents around Bramhall and Cheadle Hulme. Snapes Estate Agents (four offices, going since 1991) and Stuarts Homes in Cheadle are two of the names you’ll see on keys. A handful of small-office cleans around Mersey Square come up in the early mornings if you want extra hours.

How you get around the borough

If you don’t drive, the train spine helps a lot. Stockport, Heaton Chapel, Reddish North, Cheadle Hulme, Bramhall and Hazel Grove all sit on the line into Manchester Piccadilly, which runs over the 1840 viaduct (almost 400 trains a day across it, by Network Rail’s count, so train frequency on this line is decent). The 192 bus down Wellington Road is also useful for north-Stockport rounds. Marple and Hazel Grove rota will be easier with a car.

One quirk worth flagging: Cheadle, Heald Green and the south-Stockport edge sit under Manchester Airport’s main approach when the wind is westerly, which is most of the year. About 20% of the year, in easterly conditions, the runway flips and the same areas get departures instead, which is louder. Night flights of the noisier types are restricted between 23:00 and 06:59 by the airport’s Noise Action Plan.

What we ask of you

  • You’ve cleaned before, professionally or seriously domestically. We don’t train from zero on this round.
  • You text the night before if a clean has to move. We can shuffle if we know in time.
  • You bring your own kit for the basics (cloths, a decent mop). We supply hoovers and the heavier stuff.
  • Right-to-work in the UK. We check ID and a recent utility bill at the meeting, not before.

Maid2Clean and Time For You both run in Stockport and both run honest operations. The differences with us are weekly pay and that we don’t double-clip on commission. Read it however you like.

Applying

Message the number on this page with three things: your name, the postcode you live in, and one sentence on where you’ve cleaned before. We reply inside 48 hours. If we want to meet, it’s usually a Wednesday morning around Mersey Square (Merseyway is open 09:00–17:30 Mon–Sat, so coffee is easy and parking near the centre is fine before ten). Bring photo ID and a utility bill from the last three months.

Hiring organisation: Monster Cleaning, trading since 2014. Posted 7 May 2026. Closes 30 June 2026 unless filled sooner.

For Greater Manchester rounds further into town, see our cleaner roles in Manchester city centre. UK pay rates we anchor against are listed on the GOV.UK National Minimum Wage and Living Wage page.
