Anyone who has cleaned in Tower Hamlets knows the borough splits in half. North of the A11 you are on Roman Road, around Victoria Park, into Bethnal Green and Bow. South, you are on the river, in Wapping, Limehouse and the Canary Wharf towers. The work runs differently on each side and we cover both.

We are hiring domestic cleaners across Tower Hamlets at £14.80 an hour, paid weekly, on regular rounds covering E1, E2, E3 and E14.

That is the headline.

Where the rounds actually are

Most of our north-borough work sits on the D6 and 25 bus spine along Mile End Road, with side streets running off into Bow and Bethnal Green. The D3 from Bethnal Green to Leamouth is the line we use to thread Wapping and Canary Wharf into the same rota when a cleaner wants more hours. Whitechapel has been on the Elizabeth line since 2022, which changed how quickly someone living in Stratford can pick up a Tower Hamlets shift, and pushed a wave of converted-flat lettings near the Royal London Hospital that we now clean regularly.

Around Brick Lane and Spitalfields the housing is mostly old, mostly walk-up. Around Canary Wharf and South Quay it is almost all new-build flats, and they clean fast. End-of-tenancy slots come in through letting agents on the patch, including Foxtons Canary Wharf and Foxtons Bow, plus Wextons in Whitechapel.

Pay, plain

£14.80 an hour. Friday bank transfer for the previous week.

That figure is the London Living Wage rate for 2025–26. We pay it because monthly pay is a horrible way to start a new job, and because the rate big agencies advertise around here, roughly £13 to £13.85, is a real-terms pay cut once you take the time-of-day shifts they hand out. Self-employed or PAYE, your choice.

The Tower Hamlets parking thing

It deserves its own paragraph.

Tower Hamlets does not run one CPZ; it runs sixteen mini-zones grouped into A, B, C and D. Most operate Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm, like Zone B2 around Mile End or Zone D in the Isle of Dogs. The one that catches new cleaners out is Zone A6, the resident bays west of Brick Lane, which runs Monday to Sunday from 8:30am to 10pm. If you take a Sunday booking off Hanbury Street or Princelet Street, you cannot park there on a hunch. We send a permit code by text on any job that needs one, and we tell you straight when a job is a walk-from-the-station instead.

If you do not drive, the DLR through Limehouse and Westferry, the District line at Stepney Green and Mile End, and the Elizabeth line at Whitechapel and Canary Wharf will cover almost every shift. The whole borough sits inside ULEZ, so a compliant car matters if you do drive.

What we want

Cleaning experience, professionally or seriously domestically. You turn up on the day. If a job needs to move, you text the night before. Right-to-work paperwork sorted before the first shift, ID and a recent utility bill is enough.

No CV. No covering letter. No long online form.

To apply, message the number on this page with your name, the postcode you live in, and one line on where you have cleaned before. We reply inside 48 hours. If we want to meet you, we meet on a weekday morning near Mile End Road, bring ID and a utility bill, and we sort right-to-work in person.

If your commute does not suit Tower Hamlets, see our open Hackney rounds along the E5/E8 border.
