Two services, not one
People ring us asking for “a cleaner” and mean one of two very different things. We keep them separate because the price and the way they run are different, and lumping them together is how you end up paying for the wrong thing.
The first is a regular clean. Same cleaner, your home, every week or every fortnight, on a standing arrangement we call a retainer. The second is a one-off: a team comes in once, gives the place a proper going-over, and leaves. You might want a deep clean before guests arrive, or a tidy-up after a party, or a reset when you move in.
Different jobs. Different rates. Here they both are.
Regular cleaning, same cleaner
This is the one most people want once they have tried it. You get the same cleaner kept on your home, week after week, so they learn your place: which radiator the dust hides behind, that the spare room is off limits, how you like the bed done. A retainer is the polite word for it. In practice it just means we hold a slot for you and the same person fills it.
It is £22 per cleaner per hour on a weekly round. Go fortnightly and it is £24 per cleaner per hour, because a fortnightly home has had two weeks to gather dust and takes a touch longer per visit to hold the same standard. No VAT on top. No call-out charge. The figure you are quoted is the figure you pay.
A three-hour weekly clean works out at £66. A fortnightly visit of two to three hours runs £48 to £72, depending on how long you book. Most Maidstone homes we clean weekly sit at the three-hour mark, which covers kitchen, bathroom, floors throughout and a proper dust and tidy of the living spaces.
One thing we do not do is play games with the hourly figure. There is no sliding scale, no cheaper band for booking longer, no discount dressed up to look like a deal. The rate is the rate, and we would rather say so plainly.

Want the ironing dealt with too? Add it at £12 an hour on top of the cleaning time. A lot of our regulars bolt on an hour of ironing while the cleaner is already there, which beats doing it yourself on a Sunday night.
The one-off team clean
A one-off is a different animal. It is a standalone service done by a team, usually about two cleaners working together for around three hours, so a big job gets knocked out in an afternoon rather than dragging across a week. The rate is £26 per cleaner per hour, with a £67 minimum charge so a tiny call-out is still worth the trip out.
When does a one-off make sense? Before the in-laws descend. After a houseful of teenagers. When a tenancy turns over and the place needs resetting, though if it is a full move-out with a deposit on the line you want our end of tenancy cleaning in Kent instead, which is a separate checklist-driven service.
Two cleaners for three hours at £26 each is £156 for the visit. Smaller flats near the town centre often need less; the bigger family homes out at Bearsted or Weavering can need more. We will tell you honestly what we think a place needs before you commit, not after.

Cleaning Kent homes, honestly
Maidstone housing is a real mix, and the mix changes what a clean involves. Walk in from the centre and you hit streets of small Victorian artisan terraces, the kind built two-up two-down with a back addition tacked on later. Push out toward Allington, Penenden Heath, Loose or the new estates and you are into post-war semis and modern boxes that the big builders threw up over the last decade.
The old terraces near town have their quirks: original tiled floors in the hall that mop up beautifully but show every smear, sash windows that gather grime in the runners, and kitchens squeezed into the back addition where there is no room to swing a mop. The newer builds out at Loose Valley or off the Sutton Road are easier underfoot but come with shower enclosures and glass everywhere, which is where the water round here starts to bite.
We clean across the ME postcodes, so a fair chunk of our week is the school run belt around Bearsted and Weavering, where the train into London Victoria means the house sits empty all day and gets cleaned while you are at your desk. We hold keys for plenty of those, alarm-code and all, because a commuter clean that needs you home to open the door is no use to a commuter.
Parking is the usual Maidstone headache. The terraces off Tonbridge Road and around the Hazlitt Theatre end of town are resident-permit zones, so we either use your visitor permit or park sensibly and walk the kit in. The hard-water problem
Kent sits on chalk, and chalk means hard water. The ME14 supply around central Maidstone runs at roughly 224 parts per million of calcium carbonate, which is firmly in the hard band, and you see it everywhere once you know to look. Cloudy shower screens. A white crust round the taps. A kettle that furs up in a fortnight.
This matters for a domestic clean because limescale does not wipe off with a squirt of all-purpose spray. It needs the right descaler and a bit of patience, especially on glass shower doors and chrome mixers, and it comes back, so it is one of the genuine arguments for a regular slot rather than a one-off every few months. Stay on top of it weekly and it never builds; leave it and you are scrubbing.
We bring proper limescale treatment as standard. You do not need to leave anything out, though if you have a finish you are precious about, tell us and we will work around it.

Yes. Ironing is an optional add-on at £12 an hour on top of the cleaning time. Many of our regulars add an hour while the cleaner is already there.
