If you’ve ever cleaned a house on Esher Park Avenue you’ll know what we mean by a long brief. The drives are long, the rooms are bigger than you expect, and clients usually want the same person back next fortnight. We’re hiring part-time domestic cleaners in Esher at £14 to £16 per hour, paid weekly, on regular fortnightly rounds across KT10.

The Esher patch, in plain terms
Most of our work sits inside the KT10 box, with the Civic Centre at 9SD as the rough centre. Three pockets account for nearly all of it. The big detached houses on the private roads off the A307, including Esher Park Avenue, The Drive and Wolsey Drive, where average sold prices on Esher Park Avenue alone sit around £1.37 million and the homes are usually four or five bedrooms with a separate utility room. Edwardian and 1920s villas around the station and Lammas Lane, which are smaller but often have heritage flooring and a lot of glazing. Modern gated developments behind the High Street and the mansion blocks above the shops, which are quicker visits and tend to be a regular weekly slot.
End-of-tenancy work comes through the Esher High Street letting agents. Savills at 55 High Street, Knight Frank at 47 High Street and Curchods at 77 High Street between them put through most of our turnaround bookings. Hamptons and Gascoigne Pees are the other two we work with regularly. Esher property turns slowly compared with central London, so the volume isn’t huge, but the jobs that come through are usually four to six hours and the agents pay on time.
What you’ll earn
£14 to £16 an hour. Where you sit in the band depends on the property. The big houses on Esher Park Avenue and The Drive pay £16 because they take a full half-day and the floor plans run over 3,000 square feet. The High Street flats and the smaller villas pay £14 to £15 because you can fit two visits in a morning without driving anywhere. Bank transfer, every Friday.

Mmmarvellous have been running domestic rounds across the KT10 area since 2002 and split an hourly rate between cleaner and office. We pay the cleaner end of the market and we don’t take a cut from your wage during the visit; we charge the client a separate booking fee at the front end.
Getting to the work
Esher station has fast services to Waterloo in around 23 minutes on South Western Railway, which is useful if you live anywhere along the line out to Surbiton or Wimbledon. The A307 Portsmouth Road runs the length of the patch, so most of the Wolsey Drive and Esher Common end is reachable from a single bus or a short drive. Drivers, take the Sandown race-day calendar seriously. The May Tingle Creek and the July evening fixtures pull thousands of cars onto Portsmouth Road and onto More Lane between roughly 11am and 7pm; we move morning slots forward on those days where we can. The 2026 fixtures we already know about include 28 May, 12 and 13 June, 3 and 4 July, 23 and 24 July, and 29 July.
Claremont Landscape Garden on Portsmouth Road, the National Trust property at KT10 9JG, opens at 10am and closes at 5pm in summer, with last entry an hour before. The car park there is a useful midday meeting point if we need to swap keys between cleaners. The Blackhills car park off the A307 at KT10 9JL, on the edge of Esher Common, is the other obvious one and has space for around twenty cars.

- ✓You’ve cleaned in private homes before, paid. We’re not training from zero on this round.
- ✓You can be discreet inside large houses. A lot of our Esher clients work from home.
- ✓You’ll text the night before if a slot needs to move. We’d rather rebook than arrive to a no-show.
- ✓Right-to-work paperwork on day one. No exceptions, even for someone we already know.
What we don’t want: a long CV, a covering letter, or three written references.
An honest note on the patch
Esher is wealthy in a way that changes the work. Clients are usually polite, often quite direct, and the standards expected on a regular clean are higher than the borough averages around Kingston or Surbiton. Sandown Park sits across the railway from the High Street and the racecourse staff know our cars by sight. The Marquis of Granby on Portsmouth Road near the Scilly Isles roundabout has been closed long-term since 2024, so don’t use it as a meeting marker the way some older job ads still do. Use the station forecourt or the Bear Lane car park behind the High Street instead.
Hampton Court Palace gardens are a fifteen-minute drive east, which is worth knowing because some of our higher-end clients hold parties on Saturdays and ring on a Monday for an unscheduled clean. We try to flag those as overtime slots rather than push them onto the regular rota.
