Fortnightly works out at £48 to £72 a visit, depending on whether your cleaner is in for two or three hours. We tend to nudge fortnightly clients towards the longer slot, because a fortnight of a busy household takes more putting right than a single week does.
Want the ironing done as well? Add £12 an hour for it, on top of the cleaning time. Some people have their cleaner spend the last half hour on the school shirts and the work blouses. It is the half hour they hate most, so it tends to be the first thing they hand over.
The number we quote is the number you pay.
We do not run a sliding scale where the rate drops the more hours you book. The hourly figure is the hourly figure, weekly or fortnightly. We would rather be straight about it than dress up a discount you were never really getting.
The one-off clean is a different thing
A one-off clean is a standalone job and it costs more per hour, because a team has to mobilise for a single visit with no ongoing round to spread the travel across. It is usually about two cleaners for three hours, working through the whole house top to bottom in one go.
The rate is £26 per cleaner per hour, with a £67 minimum charge. So a typical two-cleaner, three-hour visit comes to £156 of work, done in an afternoon rather than dragged across a fortnight. Smaller jobs still meet the £67 floor, which simply covers getting a crew to your door and back.
This is the one to book when the house needs rescuing rather than maintaining. After a long tenancy, before family descend at Christmas, or when you have let it slide and want a clean slate to start a weekly round from. Ironing can be added to a one-off too, at the same £12 an hour.

Where we clean in Esher
Our Esher work runs across the whole of KT10. The flats and maisonettes around the High Street and Esher Green, the big detached houses on the private roads like Esher Park Avenue and out by the Claremont estate, and the Edwardian and Georgian places on the leafier streets towards West End and Claygate.
The housing here is mostly large. That matters for how we quote, because a six-bedroom house on Sandown Avenue is not the same morning as a two-bed flat by the station, and pretending otherwise helps nobody.
Parking is rarely the headache it is in London. Most homes have a drive, which means our cleaner is not circling the block or feeding a meter before she has lifted a cloth. The few High Street flats are the exception, and we plan visits around that.
One genuinely local quirk worth knowing: if you live near the station, race days at Sandown Park change the whole rhythm of the place. There is a gate straight off the platform onto the racecourse, so on a big meeting the roads fill and the trains heave. We schedule around the fixture list for the homes closest to the course, because a cleaner stuck in race-day traffic is no use to anyone.
We also clean a fair few of the houses out by the Esher Place estate, the private enclave that still has Wayneflete Tower standing in it, the slim Grade I gatehouse that is the last surviving piece of the old Palace of Esher down on the River Mole.
