Harrow rounds split cleanly along the Metropolitan line. North of Harrow-on-the-Hill station you get the Pinner and Northwood Hills 1930s semis with their Tudor gables and crazy-paved drives, then the bigger Stanmore houses up by the Bentley Priory deer park, then a tail of Wealdstone terraces back down towards HA3. South of the Hill it’s a different story: tighter HA1 and HA2 streets, the new flats behind St Ann’s Shopping Centre, and the long bus runs down towards South Harrow and Rayners Lane. We work the lot.
The role in one sentence
We’re hiring a domestic cleaner in Harrow at £14 an hour, paid weekly, on fortnightly rounds across HA1, HA2, HA3, HA5 and HA7.

What the work actually is
Most of our Harrow rota is private homes. The borough’s housing mix shapes the day more than anywhere else we cover. You’ll do mock-Tudor Metro-land semis around Pinner and Hatch End, where John Betjeman filmed Pinner Fair in 1973, post-war terraces and 1960s ex-council stock around Wealdstone and Kenton, bigger detached houses along the Stanmore ridge near Bentley Priory deer park, and a steady run of modern flats in the new towers off Greenhill Way and Lyon Road behind the redeveloping Harrow town centre. End-of-tenancy work comes in mostly through Pinner and Stanmore letting agents, including Paige & Petrook in Pinner and the Hamptons branch on Stanmore Broadway (the old Preston Bennett office, taken over in 2014).

£14 per hour. Every Friday. Bank transfer.
That sits above the National Living Wage and a touch under the £14.80 London Living Wage figure for 2025-26, which we think is fair for an outer-zone borough where most of the work is private homes rather than commercial contracts. For a sense of the local market, Cleaning Express advertises one-off Harrow cleans from around £190 for a 1-bed flat, and Care.com profiles in HA1 cluster between £13 and £16 an hour for direct private bookings. Getting around without a car
You don’t need a car for Harrow. The Metropolitan line runs the spine of the borough from Harrow-on-the-Hill up through North Harrow, Pinner, Northwood Hills and out to the edges, the Bakerloo and Overground come in at Harrow & Wealdstone, and the Jubilee line terminates at Stanmore with first trains starting around 05:30 on weekdays, which matters if you’ve got an 8am client up that end. Buses fill in the rest, particularly the H9, H10, H11 and H12 around Harrow town centre, and the 140 along the A312 down to South Harrow and Northolt.
If you do drive, the borough has a CPZ patchwork rather than blanket coverage. Visitor permits are still old-school scratchcards in Harrow, sold in books of ten at £28 a book, or £14 for senior citizens. Where a client pays for parking we send the permit code the morning of the job. Where a job is a five-minute walk from a station we tell you straight, so you don’t waste a quarter-hour circling the side streets near St Ann’s.
What we want from you
You’ll have cleaned before, properly. We’re not training from zero this round.
- ✓Show up on time. Harrow clients on the Hill side notice the half-hour, and we’ve taken on rounds from local outfits who let that slide.
- ✓Text the night before if a job needs to move. That’s the one hard rule.
- ✓Tell us straight if a Stanmore postcode is too far from where you live, so we can rota you something closer rather than send you across the borough at school-run o’clock.
We don’t ask for a CV. No covering letter. No form to fill in.
