We’re hiring domestic cleaners across Wandsworth at £14.80 an hour, paid weekly, on regular rounds between Putney, Battersea, Earlsfield and Tooting. That’s the answer if you only read one sentence. Everything below is the small print and an honest note on what the work actually looks like in this borough.
Most of our Wandsworth rota tracks the route 39 bus. It runs Putney Bridge through Putney High Street, Southfields, Wandsworth Town and into Clapham Junction, which is roughly the spine of our patch. The work mix is mostly maintenance cleans in private flats around Northcote Road and the streets either side of it, a cluster of houses on the Earlsfield side of the railway, and a handful of weekly visits in the new builds behind Battersea Power Station. Two or three end-of-tenancy slots a month come in through letting agents around Putney High Street and the Jacksons office in Tooting. Almost all of it is domestic. We don’t do commercial contract cleaning in this borough.
Pay, plainly
£14.80 an hour. That’s the London Living Wage rate for 2025–26. Bank transfer every Friday for the previous week’s hours. We don’t pay monthly because monthly is awful when you’re new and waiting on a first wage.
Weekly. Always.
Wandsworth is a parking borough and it has got worse, not better. The Battersea Park CPZ went to Monday-to-Sunday, 9am-8pm in March 2025, including bank holidays, and several of the Putney and Tooting zones run most of the working day. We tell you in advance which jobs are walk-from-the-station and which need driving. If you do drive, the whole borough has been inside ULEZ since August 2023, so an electric or compliant car is sensible if you’re going to use it for work.
If you don’t drive, you really don’t need to. Clapham Junction sits in the middle of the borough and runs more trains per hour than any other UK station; Earlsfield and Putney are two stops away on South Western Railway, and the buses on East Hill and Putney High Street are frequent enough that we can build a sensible rota off them.
What we want from you
- ✓You’ll have cleaned before, properly. Not training-from-zero on this round.
- ✓Turn up. The other thing that has got worse around here is no-shows; we will not be that agency.
- ✓Send a text the night before if a job needs to move.
- ✓Right-to-work paperwork sorted before your first shift. ID and a recent utility bill is enough.
What we don’t ask for: a CV, a covering letter, or a long form.
