A few things genuinely change the figure and a few do not. The size of the cavity sets the base price, which is why a double costs more than a single and a range more again. The dip tank, and why same-day cooking
This is the part people ask about most. Traditional oven cleaners often paint on a caustic gel, leave it, then scrape. It works, but it can leave a smell and a film, and you are told to air the kitchen for hours. We do it differently.
The shelves, the racks, the panels and the trays come out and go into a heated dip tank that lives in the van. That tank holds a non-caustic solution, so the parts come up clean without the harsh acid bite. While they soak, the cleaner works on the cavity, the door and the seals by hand inside your kitchen using gentler products and steam. Then everything is rinsed, dried and put back where it came from.
You can use the oven the same day. That is the whole point of going non-caustic. No 24-hour wait, no eye-watering fumes drifting through a small flat, no putting the family takeaway off because the cooker is out of bounds. Switch it on, cook your tea.
It also means we can clean while the kids are home, while you are working from the front room, or while the dog is asleep in the kitchen, none of which you would risk with a caustic gel job. The seals and the fan are done in place, the bulb cover comes off and goes back, and the racks slide back in on the same runners. By the time we leave, the only sign anyone was there is that the glass is clear and the kitchen smells of nothing in particular.

What we clean beyond the oven
The oven is the main job, but the kitchen is rarely just the oven.
A hob is £23 to £28, and the price depends on whether it is gas, with burners and pan supports to lift and degrease, or a flat ceramic that needs the burnt rings taking off without scratching it. The extractor is £28, filters out, soaked, and the grille degreased, which on the Grid kitchens is usually the grimiest thing in the room because nobody ever touches it. A microwave is £22, inside and out, turntable included.
Booking these together with the oven is the sensible move, and not only because it saves a second visit. The hob, the splashback and the extractor are all coated in the same atomised grease that the oven throws out, so cleaning the oven and leaving the hood above it tends to look half-finished. The filters in particular hold months of fat, and a clogged one makes the extractor work harder and louder for no benefit. We soak them while the oven parts are in the tank, so it adds time but not much.
