Ilford carpets earn their dirt. Mud from Valentines Park, the daily tramp to the Elizabeth line, three generations living over one hallway runner. We pull out what the hoover leaves behind, with hot-water extraction, at a fixed price you hear before we start.

Last updated July 2026. Prices and the areas we cover are checked each season, so what you read here is what you pay.

We clean carpets across Ilford and the IG postcodes around it. Bedrooms are £36, the whole carpeted area of a two-bed flat is £115, and the price is settled before we knock.

Carpet cleaning prices in Ilford

Straight numbers first. A bedroom carpet is £36. A living room is £43. A through-lounge is £61, and Ilford has a lot of those, because so many terraces between the High Road and Valentines Park have had the two downstairs rooms knocked into one long run of carpet. A flight of stairs is £41, priced for what stairs actually are: slow, hand-detailed work on the most battered pile in the house.

Rugs go by size. Up to two square metres is £35, larger is £51, and either way the rug gets cleaned flat and dried properly rather than given a quick pass where it lies.

The booking we take most often is the whole carpeted area of a two-bed flat, £115 in one visit. That figure holds in January and it holds in July. Nothing gets added on the day, and we don’t invent a higher price first so the real one looks like a favour.

How hot-water extraction works

Hot-water extraction is the method older adverts call steam cleaning. The machine drives hot water and cleaning solution deep into the pile, then pulls nearly all of it straight back out, carrying the loosened dirt with it. That reach is the point. Grit never stays on the surface of a carpet; it works down to the base of the fibres and saws away at them under every footstep, which is how a hallway goes threadbare years before the bedroom it leads to.

A clean lifts the dirt and brings the colour back. It does not lift five years of wear, and we say so at the door rather than after payment.

Not every carpet gets the same treatment. The older flats off Cranbrook Road still have plenty of wool and wool-mix underfoot, and wool shrinks if you treat it like nylon, so we test a hidden corner and run cooler and gentler. Synthetics in the newer blocks take a hotter, firmer pass and are dry sooner. If you want the method explained from first principles, the main carpet cleaning service page goes through it properly.

Terraces, towers and the carpets in them

Ilford runs from Edwardian terrace to thirty-storey tower inside a ten-minute walk, and the carpets follow suit.

A carpet you happily sit down on is the whole point.

Around Valentines Park and the Gardens, that triangle of Edwardian streets between Cranbrook Road and The Drive, we mostly meet older wool mixes, runners over original boards and long straight flights of stairs. Houses built for one family’s footsteps now hold considerably more life than that, and the landing carpet is usually where it shows. Park mud is its own subject. A wet Saturday around the boating lake or the cricket side of Valentines walks straight back down somebody’s hallway, every single weekend.

By the station it is the opposite story. The towers off Winston Way and around the town centre, Pioneer Point among them, mostly have tight synthetic pile in the bedrooms, that forgiving greige that hides everything until a coffee or a burst shopping bag proves otherwise. Those flats dry fast with a window cracked, and the lift makes our carrying easier, which matters more than you’d think with an extraction machine.

The hallway loses either way. It always does.

HMO rooms and rental carpets

A fair share of our Ilford carpet work is one room at a time. House shares and HMOs turn rooms over separately, and a £36 bedroom clean between tenants is cheaper than the argument a tired carpet starts later. Shared stairs in a five-person house take five people’s traffic, so the £41 stair clean earns its keep there more than anywhere else in the building.

Landlords have extra reason to care in this borough. Ilford Town and Valentines wards have needed selective licences for private rentals since November 2023, HMO licensing applies across the whole of Redbridge, and a licensed property gets looked at. We are not the licensing people and don’t pretend to be. We just make the carpets one less thing on the list before anyone official walks up the stairs.

If a whole place is being handed back rather than one room, that is a different job: see our end of tenancy cleaning in Ilford.

What happens on the day

We come when we said we would. Light furniture gets moved and cleaned under; wardrobes, storage beds and anything fragile stay exactly where they are. If you can clear toys, shoes and cables off the floor before we ring the bell, you stop paying carpet-cleaning rates for tidying up.

Parking near the town centre is restricted for most of the working day and the side streets fill early, so we plan for it, pay for it where we must, and never pass it on as a surprise line. Then the actual work: pre-spray on the marks, agitate, extract, and a final slow pass to pull as much water back out as the machine will take. Rooms are walkable in four to six hours. Ground-floor rooms in older conversions hold their damp, so those get air movers rather than crossed fingers.

If a room dries and still looks wrong, tell us and we come back to re-do it. That guarantee costs us money now and then, which is exactly why you can believe it.

Who we are and how to book

Monster Cleaning Ltd, Companies House number 9919639, cleaning across London since 2014 from our base at 255 Upper Richmond Road West, SW14 8QS. Ilford carpets are a steady part of the weekly round for us, not an occasional trek east.

Ring 0333 555 2076, or send your postcode, the rooms you want doing and rough sizes to [email protected], and a fixed price comes back. Not an estimate that swells once the machine is through your door. We cover the town centre, Cranbrook, the Valentines streets, Loxford, Seven Kings and out to Gants Hill, roughly IG1 through IG3. On the edge of that? Ask anyway.

Plenty of customers hand us more than the floors. We do oven cleaning in Ilford and regular domestic cleaning in Ilford as well, and one firm doing all three saves you three sets of phone calls.

Frequently asked questions

How much does carpet cleaning cost in Ilford?

A bedroom is £36, a living room £43 and a knocked-through through-lounge £61. Stairs are £41 a flight. Rugs are £35 up to two square metres and £51 above that. The whole carpeted area of a two-bed flat is £115. Every figure is fixed before we arrive and nothing is added for parking or products.

Can you clean a single room in a house share?

Yes, and in Ilford it is one of our most common jobs. Landlords book one bedroom between tenants, or a sharer books just their own room. The room is £36, and the shared stairs are £41 if you add them. We work around housemates, and a midweek daytime slot usually suits everyone best.

How long until we can walk on the carpet?

Four to six hours as a rule. Flats in the newer blocks near the station dry quicker because the pile is synthetic and the ventilation is better. Ground-floor rooms in older converted houses take the longest, especially in winter, so we bring air movers to those. Socks on a damp carpet are fine; shoes and bare feet are not.

Can you remove pet stains and smells?

Usually, with one honest exception. Fresh accidents and surface odours respond well to enzyme treatment. Urine that has soaked into the underlay over months is a different problem, because the smell lives under the carpet rather than in it. We tell you which situation you have before we start, not after.

Should I move furniture before you arrive?

Only the small stuff, if you can. We move sofas, chairs and coffee tables ourselves and clean underneath them. Wardrobes, storage beds and anything with glass in it stay put. A floor clear of toys, shoes and cables means the machine time goes on the carpet, which is what you are paying for.

Is parking in Ilford extra?

No. The restrictions around the town centre and the station are our problem to plan around, not yours to pay for. The quote you accept is the amount you pay, whether we end up on a meter, in a car park or halfway down a side street with the hoses run long.

How often does a busy family carpet need cleaning?

Once a year keeps a normal household ahead of the grit. With a dog, small children or a daily walk through Valentines Park, the hallway and stairs may want doing every six months while the bedrooms stay yearly. Weekly vacuuming helps the surface but never reaches the ground-in dirt at the base of the pile.

Which areas do you cover from Ilford?

The town centre and everywhere around it: Cranbrook, the Valentines streets, Loxford, Seven Kings, Goodmayes and across to Gants Hill, roughly the IG1 to IG3 postcodes. If you sit just outside that, call 0333 555 2076 or email [email protected] and we will say yes or no straight away rather than leave you guessing.
