Nobody in Ilford cooks lightly. Full households, dinner from scratch most nights, rented kitchens where one cooker feeds an entire house share. The ovens here carry more baked-on grease than almost anywhere else we work, and we take them back to clean metal for a fixed price.
Last updated July 2026. Prices and the areas we cover are checked each season, so what you read here is what you pay.
Oven cleaning in Ilford costs £77 for a single oven, £110 for a double, £114 for a 90cm range and £143 for an AGA, with hobs, extractors and microwaves done on the same visit.
What oven cleaning costs in Ilford
A single oven is £77. A double is £110. A 90cm range cooker is £114, and an AGA is £143 because an AGA is a different animal and takes most of a morning. Those prices are fixed, quoted before we come, and the same whether your kitchen is a terrace galley off Ilford Lane or the twentieth floor of a tower by the station.
While the kit is out, add-ons are cheap. A hob is £23 to £28 depending on whether it is a sealed ceramic sheet or a gas top with pan supports to strip. An extractor hood is £28, filters included. A microwave is £22. Most Ilford bookings pair a double oven with the hob and the extractor, because the grease that coats one has coated all three.
One price, one visit, no top-ups invented at the door. The figure covers the technician’s time, the tank soak, the products and the parking outside, and nothing about your kitchen changes it after we quote, short of the oven turning out to be a different appliance than the one described on the phone.
How we get the grease off
The door comes off first. So do the racks, the trays, the side runners and, where the model allows it, the inner glass. All of that goes into a heated dip tank in the van, where the burnt-on carbon softens while we work on the cavity indoors with a paste that does its job without gassing the kitchen. The two halves of the job meet in the middle: soaked parts scrubbed and dried, cavity wiped to bare enamel, glass polished, everything rebuilt.
The tank in the van does the ugly work outside, so your kitchen never fills with fumes and your worktops never host a dripping oven door.
You can cook the same evening. We ask you to run the empty oven hot for ten minutes first, and that is the whole aftercare. The method itself is described at length on the main oven cleaning service page if you like detail.
Households with small children or a dog stationed hopefully by the cooker ask about fumes more than anything else, and the answer is the reason we work this way round. The harsh chemistry stays in the tank outside. What we use indoors is mild enough that nobody has to leave the house, air the kitchen out for an afternoon or rehome the goldfish.
Ilford kitchens, from family ranges to studio slimlines
The Edwardian terraces around Valentines Park and off Cranbrook Road tend to have the serious kitchens: 90cm ranges, six burners, households where something is on the stove morning and night. Daily frying puts an oil film on every surface within arm’s reach of the hob, and the oven door glass browns from both sides until nobody can check a bake without opening it.

The new towers around the Elizabeth line station are the other end of the scale. Slimline 60cm electric ovens, induction hobs, and recirculating extractor hoods that have nowhere to send the air, so their filters clog faster than anyone expects. A Build to Rent flat gets cooked in hard too; the oven is just smaller and newer while it happens.
Water plays its part here as well. IG1 taps run very hard, around the 300 ppm mark, so steam and splashes dry into chalky spotting on steel and door glass that a supermarket spray will not shift. Getting that film off without scratching what is under it is half the polishing work in this postcode.
Rented kitchens and house shares
An HMO kitchen is one cooker on five rotas. Nobody owns the oven, so nobody cleans it, and it quietly becomes the dirtiest object in the building. We clean a lot of them: for landlords between tenancies, for agents who want a kitchen photographable again, and occasionally for sharers who have simply had enough and split the £77.
The paperwork side gives landlords a nudge. Redbridge licenses HMOs across the whole borough, down to three sharers forming two households, and Ilford Town and Valentines wards carry selective licensing for ordinary rentals on top. A kitchen is the room an inspection lingers in. A clean oven does not tick a legal box by itself, but it sets the tone for everything else the visit finds.
The oven door is also the first thing most check-out clerks open.
If the tenancy itself is ending and the whole property needs doing, that is handled by our end of tenancy cleaning in Ilford instead.
The visit itself
A single oven takes about an hour and a half. A double runs past two hours, and a range or an AGA takes the morning. Sheets go down before anything is unbolted, we bring the water, the tank and the power we need, and the kitchen stays usable around us for everything except the cooker.
At the end we rebuild, refit the pan supports, and check the burners light and the fan turns. Gas stays off unless we have put it back exactly as we found it. The glass gets a blade and a polish rather than a hopeful wipe, since hard-water spotting laughs at cloths. Then you get the before-and-after look inside before we pack the van.

Not everything comes off, and we say so plainly: grease and carbon go, but enamel that has discoloured with age or glass that has pitted stays that way. If any part of the clean is not right, we return and put it right.
Before we arrive, three small things help. Finish the last cook the night before, so the oven is cold. Clear the stretch of worktop nearest the cooker, so parts have somewhere to rest. And mention anything already broken, a dodgy hinge, a blown bulb, a cracked pane, when you book rather than on the day, so nobody is left wondering afterwards whose fault it was. Honest both ways is the arrangement.
Who does the work and how to book
We are Monster Cleaning, a London firm at it since 2014, insured, and honest about what a clean can and cannot fix. The oven technician who comes has done hundreds of these, which shows most in the speed of the strip-down.
Booking takes one call to 0333 555 2076 or an email to [email protected]. Tell us single, double, range or AGA, whether you want the hob, extractor or microwave added, and your postcode. The price you hear is the price you pay. We cover Ilford itself plus Seven Kings, Goodmayes, Gants Hill, Newbury Park and Barkingside, and we will tell you straight if an address falls outside the round.
Kitchens are rarely the only job on the list. The same visit-booking line handles carpet cleaning in Ilford and regular domestic cleaning in Ilford, if you want the house dealt with by one firm instead of three.
Ilford oven cleaning questions, answered
How much does an oven clean cost in Ilford?
£77 for a single oven, £110 for a double, £114 for a 90cm range and £143 for an AGA. A hob is £23 to £28 depending on type, an extractor hood is £28 and a microwave is £22 when done on the same visit. Prices are fixed when you book, not adjusted at the door.
How long does an oven clean take?
Roughly an hour and a half for a single oven and a bit over two hours for a double. Range cookers and AGAs take the best part of a morning because there is simply more metal to strip and soak. Adding a hob or an extractor puts twenty to thirty minutes on the visit.
Can we cook the same day?
Yes. Nothing caustic is left in the oven, so once we have rebuilt it you run it empty and hot for about ten minutes, let any dampness steam off, and cook that evening. Plenty of Ilford customers book us in the morning precisely so dinner goes into a clean oven.

Do you clean hobs, extractor hoods and microwaves too?
Yes, and it is worth doing while everything is out. Gas hobs get their pan supports and burner caps soaked and scrubbed for £28; a sealed ceramic or induction top is £23. Extractors are £28 including the filters, which in the newer recirculating hoods are usually the worst part. A microwave is £22.
Do you clean ovens in HMOs and rented houses?
Constantly. Landlords and agents book us between tenancies, and we can work with keys or a tenant present. A shared kitchen cooker gets more use than any family oven, so it usually needs the full strip-down rather than a wipe. We confirm the appliance type first so the right tank and parts kit arrive.
Will every mark come off?
No, and we would rather say it here. Burnt-on grease and carbon come off. Enamel that has discoloured with years of heat, pitting in door glass and rust on old racks are permanent. You get an honest opinion at the start of the visit, and if anything we cleaned is not right we come back to it.
What should I do before the technician arrives?
Nothing heroic. Have the oven cold, so no roast that morning. Clear the nearest stretch of worktop, keep pets somewhere else for the duration, and tell us in advance about anything already broken, hinges and bulbs especially. Landlords booking remotely just need to sort keys and any parking notes with the office and we handle the rest.
How do I book an oven clean in Ilford?
Call 0333 555 2076 or email [email protected] with your postcode, the oven type and any add-ons. You get a fixed price and a time slot, and the technician arrives with the tank, water and power sorted. We cover IG1 and the areas around it, from Loxford up to Barkingside.
