Most of the carpets we clean in Canary Wharf belong to someone other than the person booking us. What carpet cleaning costs in Canary Wharf
The list is short and it doesn’t move once we’ve quoted. A bedroom carpet is £36. A living room is £43. A through-lounge is £61, and around here that tends to mean the open-plan living and dining space that runs the depth of the flat, which is two rooms of carpet whatever the floorplan calls it. A flight of stairs is £41, relevant if you’re in a duplex or one of the older townhouses off East Ferry Road. The whole carpeted area of a two-bed flat is £115, done in one visit.
Rugs go by size. Up to two square metres is £35, bigger is £51. Worth spelling out in E14, because a lot of the newer flats have engineered boards throughout and the only soft thing underfoot is the rug the landlord bought to warm up the listing photos. We clean those flat and dry them properly, not with a quick pass while they sit on the boards.

The carpets E14 actually has
10 George Street holds 327 rented flats on its own, and that’s one tower on one street. Multiply that across Wood Wharf, the Vertus buildings, Pan Peninsula by South Quay DLR, South Quay Plaza, Landmark Pinnacle and the rest of Marsh Wall, and you get a neighbourhood where most carpets were chosen by a landlord, fitted in bulk and inspected at check-out.
That shapes what we walk into. Bedrooms carpeted in pale wool-mix or light grey twist, living areas on hard floor, everything neutral because neutral photographs well. A pale carpet is lovely for about six months. Then the desk chair wears its track by the window, the coffee finds the same spot beside the bed, and the room looks tired even though the carpet is three years old.

The Island isn’t all towers, either. Cascades went up on Westferry Road in 1988 as the first private high-rise in Docklands, and behind it sits a band of 1990s low-rise streets and maisonettes. The Barkantine and Samuda estates have been here since the late 1960s. Those homes tend to carry harder-wearing synthetic carpets that can take a hotter, firmer clean, and they have stairs, which a tower flat never does unless it’s a duplex.
Dirt behaves differently up here too. Nobody tracks a garden through a 30th-floor hallway, so what ages these carpets is fine grit, spills and time rather than mud.

Pale wool-mix, coffee and red wine
Hot-water extraction is the method. We pre-treat the marks, then the machine drives hot water and cleaning solution deep into the pile and pulls nearly all of it straight back out, dirt included. Wool-mix needs manners. Run it too hot and wet and wool shrinks, so we turn the temperature down, switch to a wool-safe solution and test a hidden corner before committing to the room. Furnished lets round here are full of wool-mix, and it cleans up well when it’s treated with a bit of respect.
Stains, honestly: fresh coffee usually goes. Red wine depends on its age and on what’s been scrubbed into it since; supermarket foam can set a stain, or bleach a pale halo that looks worse than the original spill. We’ll tell you what’s coming out and what isn’t before we plug anything in.
A detail that matters: London water is hard, and a careless rinse leaves sticky mineral residue that re-greys a pale carpet within weeks. Pulling the moisture and residue back out is most of the job, and it’s the part cheap jobs skip.
Drying, lifts and tower logistics
Our machines are portable, which is the only kind that works in a tower. Where a building wants contractors booked through the concierge or a goods lift reserved, tell us the building name when you book and we sort it the day before. We sign in, put mats down through the hall, and the lobby stays as we found it.
Drying is the bit people worry about, reasonably, in flats where the windows open a few centimetres and stop. So we take it seriously: extra vacuum passes to pull the water back out, air movers running while we clean, doors arranged to move air through the flat. Four to six hours is typical. Book a morning slot and you’re walking on dry carpet that evening, and these flats hold their heat, which does half the work for us in winter.
High floors cost nothing extra. A 40th-floor job takes more planning than a ground-floor one, and the planning is ours to do, not yours to pay for.

Do you move furniture?
The light pieces, yes. Sofas, armchairs, coffee tables and dining chairs get moved and cleaned under. Wardrobes, beds with storage bases and anything fragile stay where they are. Clear the small clutter off the floor before we arrive and you’re paying for cleaning rather than tidying.
How often should the carpet in a rented flat be cleaned?
Once a year for most flats, sooner if an inspection is coming, a desk chair has worn a grey track, or a dog owns the sofa. Hoovering keeps the surface tidy but cannot reach what has been trodden to the base of the pile, and a pale carpet shows that ground-in layer first.
